Overview

The Genevo One M is an advanced radar and laser detector designed to protect drivers from speeding fines. It is a powerful device within the Genevo family, offering comprehensive detection capabilities and user-friendly features.

Function Description

The primary function of the Genevo One M is to detect various types of speed enforcement devices. It identifies microwave radars operating in K and Ka bands, laser guns, red light cameras, and sectional speed cameras using its integrated GPS database. Additionally, it can detect MultaRadars CT/CD and Gatso RT3 and RT4 radars.

When a radar alert occurs, the device provides both text warnings on its display and voice alerts. The intensity of the received signal is indicated by the strength of the signal and a series of beeps, with signal strength having ten distinct levels. GPS-related alerts, such as those for speed cameras, are reported via voice.

Usage Features

The Genevo One M offers intuitive control through a set of buttons on the device.

Left Button (MENU / ON-OFF):

  • Short press: This action allows the user to enter the setup menu. During a radar alert, a short press will mute the volume for the current alert. Subsequent alarms will revert to the standard volume.
  • Long press: A long press of this button turns the Genevo One M ON or OFF.

Middle Button (BRIGHTNESS / ALERT SUPPRESSION):

  • Short press: This button controls the brightness of the display, cycling through options such as Bright, Dim, Smart Dark, and Full Dark.
  • Long press (during an alert): Holding this button during an alert allows the user to mark the location of a false radar report. When passing this location again, the detector will suppress the alert. If a false alert is suppressed, the detector will not detect radars within a radius of approximately 150 meters from that point. To cancel a suppressed listing, hold the button again during the "suppressed" radar alert, and the next passage will trigger an acoustic alert.

Right Button (SENSITIVITY / ADD YOUR OWN GPS POINT):

  • Short press: This button cycles through different sensitivity modes: Highway, City, and Auto City. In City and Auto City modes, the sensitivity of K and Ka bands can be adjusted based on user preference.
  • Long press: This action allows the user to add or remove their own GPS points.

Buttons on the Right Side (+ / -):

  • Short press: These buttons are used to change the volume of the detector.

Menu Navigation: To access the menu, press the left button. Once in the menu, press the left button again to navigate between different categories. To adjust settings within a category, use the VOLUME + or – buttons on the right side of the detector. To confirm a change, simply wait a few seconds without pressing any button; the unit will display "Setting Completed." Alternatively, pressing the right button will exit the menu.

Customizable Settings: The Genevo One M offers a wide range of customizable settings to optimize its performance and user experience:

  • Sensitivity: Users can choose between Highway, City, and Auto City modes. In Auto City, specific speed thresholds can be set where the detector will not respond to alerts or will only respond to stronger signals.
  • City and Auto City Sensitivity Values: These settings allow users to adjust the signal level at which the detector responds to radar signals for specific bands (K and Ka). The level of suppression can be set from 0-9, with higher numbers indicating decreased detection sensitivity.
  • Display Mode: Users can select what information is shown on the display, including Speed/Time, Speed/Voltage, Battery Voltage, Time, Speed, and Speed/Compass.
  • Alert Type: Options include Voice first, Beep first, or No voice, allowing users to choose their preferred alert method.
  • Auto Mute: When activated, this feature reduces the volume of an ongoing alert after two seconds.
  • Minimum Speed for Signaling Radar: Users can set a minimum speed below which radar alerts will be suppressed (Off, 10 km/h, 20 km/h, 30 km/h, up to 130 km/h).
  • K-Band Settings: Options include Wide, Narrow, Instant Only, or Off. For regions where police use K band radars, the "K Narrow" setting is recommended.
  • K Filter: This feature helps filter out false alerts from blind spots and ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control). Options are Off, Low, or High. It's important to note that when the K Filter is activated, pulsed radars like Iskra may not be detected.
  • Ka-Band Settings: Users can enable or disable specific Ka-band frequencies (34.0, 34.3, 34.7, 35.5) if they are certain these bands are not used by police in their region.
  • Ka Filter: This filter helps reduce false alerts from blind spots and ACC. Options are Off, Normal, or High. "Normal" is recommended for a good balance of sensitivity and false alert immunity.
  • Laser Detection: Can be turned On or Off.
  • MR CT and MR CD Settings: For MultaRadar CT and CD, options include Wide, Narrow, or Off. "Narrow" is recommended for countries where these radars are used (SR, A, PL, NL, ES, P, LT), otherwise "Off" is suggested.
  • Gatso RT3 and RT4: Can be turned On or Off.
  • MR Filter: Similar to K and Ka filters, this helps filter false alerts from blind spots and ACC for MR band radars. Options are Low, High, or Off. "Low" is recommended for good sensitivity and false alert immunity.
  • Startup Sound: Can be turned On or Off.
  • GPS Connect Announce: Can be turned On or Off.
  • GPS Detection by Database Type: Users can select and manage different types of GPS points (e.g., speed cameras, red light cameras) and enable/disable specific types.
  • GPS Warning Distance: Options include Normal (approx. 250m), Farther (approx. 375m), and Farest (approx. 500m).
  • Unit: Users can choose between English (mph) and Metrics (km/h).
  • Set Local Time: Allows adjustment of the time zone.
  • Language: Supports English, Deutsch, and Czech.
  • Factory Reset: Resets all settings to their default values by pressing the middle button.
  • Delete All User Points: Deletes all custom GPS points by pressing the middle button.

SpeedMeter Option (Legalization Function): This function is designed for use in countries where radar detectors are prohibited. When activated, the detector stops alerting to radars and lasers, and only the current speed is displayed. All radar and laser detection settings disappear from the menu.

  • Activation: With the detector ON, press and hold the middle and right buttons simultaneously for five seconds. The display will show "SpeedMeter ON," indicating that detection functions are deactivated.
  • Reactivation: Unplug the detector from the power source. Then, hold the right button and the "+" button simultaneously while plugging it back into the power source. Hold the buttons for approximately 8 seconds until the display shows "SpeedMeter OFF," restoring full detector functionality.

Maintenance Features

Database Updates: Regular database updates are recommended, ideally once every three months. Users can download the latest database from the Genevo website. To receive notifications about new and updated databases via email, users can register for a subscription on the Genevo website.

CE - Declaration of Conformity: The Declaration of Conformity for the device can be found on the Genevo website, ensuring compliance with relevant European standards.
