Why is the flow rate display erratic and non-linear on my GF Measuring Instruments?

  The erratic and non-linear flow rate display can be caused by a few things. If, in AutoCal, the calculated K-Factor is outside the range of the 8150 (less than 0.001 or greater than 99999), usually caused by inadequate straight pipe run, press the ? key to start the AutoCAL procedure again, making sure that the flow rate entered is accurate, and correct the piping layout to provide more straight pipe upstream of the sensor. Another cause can be that both batteries are too depleted to safely store settings. In this case, set the SPEED to a higher setting to average out the fluctuations caused by piping conditions (see Speed, section 14). Replace battery #1, then replace battery #2.

What to do if the GF Signet 8150 display is not showing anything?

  If the display is blank, the batteries may be dead or missing, so replace both batteries. Also, ensure that you have removed the plastic pull tabs that protect the batteries. If the flow rate exceeds “9999”, reduce the flow rate, change the Timebase to a smaller value (for example, from “Day” to “Hour”), or change the flow units to a larger measure (for example, from “Liters” to “Gallons”). Finally, if the 8150 is not receiving a signal from the flow sensor, there may be no flow in the pipe, the flow sensor may not be turning due to blockage or damage, or the sensor wiring may be loose or incorrect.
