PRECIPT -Precipitation Total
Outputs Precipitation (Rain) Total reading. This is an accumulated rain reading, updated and output once
per second (with default output rate setting at 1Hz).
Parameter is set to zero on MaxiMet power up and is reset to zero when the clock reads 23:59:59 to 00
(midnight) and is the default setting.
For continuous measurement, turn off auto-reset of Total Precipitation using MetSet.
Result e.g. 00000.400 (millimetres default).
PRECIPI - Precipitation Intensity
Outputs Precipitation (Rain) Intensity. It is the sum of the last sixty lots of 1 minute accumulated Rain data.
A new sum measurement is generated every minute.
Parameter will be set to zero on MaxiMet power up.
Result e.g. 000.200 (millimetres default).
PRECIPS - Precipitation Status
Outputs Precipitation (Rain) Status as N or Y (No or Yes). Changes N to Y when total precipitation is
incremented and changes Y to N when total precipitation has not incremented in the last 60 seconds.
Result e.g. N (or Y).
SOLARRAD - Solar Radiation figure
Measures solar radiation over the range 0-1600 in W/m
2
.
Result e.g. 0243.
SOLARHOURS Sunshine Hours
Sunshine hours are computed as the period of time, in hours, within a 24 hour calendar day (i.e.:
accumulated during the present day) that the measured irradiance exceeds 120 W/m².
Sunshine hours shall be displayed with 2 integral digits and 2 decimal places.
Result e.g. 01.02 (hours).
WCHILL - Wind Chill
The perceived decrease in air temperature felt by the body on exposed skin due to the flow of air.
See WMO Document TD-1184.
W = 13.12 + 0.6215*Tair – 11.37*V10metre0.16 + 0.3965*Tair * V10metre0.16
Where:-
W = the WindChill index based on Celcius Temperature scale.
Tair = The air temperature in Degrees Celcius.
V10metre = the Wind speed at 10 Metres (standard anemometer height) in kilometres/hour.
Result e.g. -012 (°C default).
Note: Wind Chill is only reported when the temperature is below 10°C and the wind speed is at least
1.5m/s.
