BATTERY VOLTAGE SENSE
The voltage measured at the battery input on the GP-MPPT-PRO-60 may di󰀨er slightly from the voltage measured
directly at the battery bank terminals. This is especially true when the GP_MPPT-PRO-60 is bulk charging and is due to
connection and cable resistance. The Battery Voltage Sense input enables the GP_MPPT-PRO to measure the battery
terminal voltage precisely with small gauge wires that carry very little curre
nt and, as a result, have no voltage drop.
A battery voltage sense connection is not required to operate your GP_MPPT-PRO-60 and it will charge your battery bank
accurately without this input. However, it is recommended that these voltage sense wires are connected to ensure that the
voltage and diagnostic displays are very accurate. The voltage sense wires are not included in the box with the GP-MPPT-
PRO-60. Wires with the following requirements can be used and should be cut to length as required to connect the battery
to the voltage sense
input on the GP-MPPT-PRO-60. The wires may be routed with the power conductors.
16 to 24 AWG (1.0 to 0.25 mm2)
Twisted pair cable is recommended but not required
UL rated 300 Volt
Maximum length for each wire is 50 ft (15.24 m)
