Why my Gorenje GS54110W Dishwasher does not start?
    • A
      Amy SpencerAug 18, 2025
If your Gorenje dishwasher isn't starting, there are several things to check: ensure the door is properly closed. If you opened the dishwasher mid-cycle to add dishes, close the door and wait for it to resume. Verify that a fuse or circuit breaker hasn't tripped, and that the dishwasher is properly plugged into the wall socket. Also, check that the water tap is turned on and there are no overflows or leaks. If the delayed start option is selected, you can cancel it by pressing and holding the main power switch until the display turns off, then restart the dishwasher. If you hear a whirring sound that doesn't stop when the power is off, turn off the water tap, pull out the plug, and call the service department.

How to remove spots or films on dishes from Gorenje GS54110W Dishwasher?
    • H
      Heather JohnsonAug 20, 2025
If you're noticing spots or films on your dishes after washing in your Gorenje dishwasher, consider these points: first, check that the salt compartment lid is properly tightened to prevent the water softener from leaking salt. Ensure your water softener setting is correct. Also, verify that your rinse aid dosage setting is correct. If the salt compartment is empty, top it up. If you're using 3-in-1 detergent and the TAB setting is activated, try inactivating the TAB setting and top up salt and rinse aid separately. For crystal, use a low temperature and a conservative amount of detergent to prevent etching.

What to do if water remains in my Gorenje GS54110W?
    • J
      Jordan RamosAug 23, 2025
If water remains in your Gorenje dishwasher after a cycle, check the following: First, inspect the drainage hose for blockages by loosening it where it connects to the sink unit's water trap, ensuring no debris is present and that the cone-shaped part of the pipe is correctly cut. Next, ensure the drainage hose is free from kinks and sharp bends. Also, clean the coarse and fine filters. If there is debris in the drainage pump, clean the drainage pump.

      Douglas WarrenAug 26, 2025
If your dishes aren't drying properly in your Gorenje dishwasher, you can try the following: activate the Extra dry option. Ensure the dishwasher is fully loaded. Check if the rinse aid needs topping up or if the dosage is set too low, and adjust accordingly. After the program finishes, open the door a little.

How to remove sticky white or blue film from dishes in Gorenje Dishwasher?
    • V
      vmillerAug 28, 2025
If your dishes have a sticky white/blue film after washing in your Gorenje dishwasher, the rinse aid dosage setting may be too high. Reduce the amount. If you have very soft water, you may want to dilute the rinse aid 50:50 with water.

Overview

This document provides operating instructions for the Gorenje GS54110W/X dishwasher, covering its functions, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Gorenje GS54110W/X is a dishwasher designed for household use, featuring a range of programs and options to ensure efficient and effective dishwashing. It includes a built-in water softener to handle hard water, an overflow protection system, and indicators for salt and rinse aid levels.

Programs: The dishwasher offers several programs tailored for different levels of dirtiness and types of dishes:

  • Auto wash (45-55°C): This program automatically adjusts water consumption and temperature based on how dirty the dishes are. It requires five initial runs to fully adapt and optimize results.
  • Intensive wash (60°C): Ideal for very dirty dishes, such as pans, casserole dishes, and oven dishes, or when high hygiene demands are present (e.g., baby bottles, cutting boards).
  • Eco wash (45°C): This is the standard cleaning cycle for normally dirty dishes, optimized for combined energy and water consumption. It's the most effective program for energy labeling information.
  • Quick wash (35°C): Suitable for lightly soiled glasses and porcelain, like coffee cups. When combined with SpeedWash, it shortens to 15 minutes.
  • Rinse (35°C): Used to rinse dishes while waiting for the dishwasher to be fully loaded.

Extra Options:

  • SpeedWash: Shortens the program time but increases energy and water consumption.
  • Extra dry: Increases the final rinse temperature to improve drying results, with a slight increase in energy consumption.
  • Half load: Adapts the program for a half-filled dishwasher, reducing energy and water usage.
  • Delayed start: Allows the user to set a start delay of 1-24 hours.

Indicators and Display:

  • Display: Shows remaining program time, "End" when finished, and error messages.
  • Refill salt indicator: Lights up when salt needs topping up.
  • Refill rinse aid indicator: Lights up when rinse aid needs topping up.

Usage Features

Loading: The dishwasher is equipped with a top cutlery tray, an upper basket, and a lower basket.

  • Top cutlery tray: For cutlery, ladles, whisks, and serving items.
  • Upper basket: For glasses, cups, bowls, side plates, and saucers. Dirty surfaces should face inwards. Wine glasses are placed on the wine glass shelf. The height of the upper basket is adjustable to accommodate larger items.
  • Lower basket: For plates, side plates, serving dishes, pots, and cutlery (in the cutlery basket).
  • Foldable tines: Can be folded up or down in the lower basket to facilitate loading pots, bowls, and glasses.
  • Cup shelf: Can be folded up or down for better stacking of pots and pans.
  • General loading advice: Place dishes so rinse water runs off, especially plastic. Ensure spray arms can rotate freely.

Detergent and Rinse Aid:

  • Detergent: Add to the detergent compartment. For heavily soiled dishes, an additional dose can be placed in the pre-wash chamber. Use only dishwasher detergent; washing-up liquid is not suitable.
  • Dishwasher tablets: Not recommended for short programs (less than 75 minutes). Halve the tablet if the dispenser lid is tight.
  • 3-in-1/All-in-one detergent: This setting can be activated to adapt programs for these products, disabling rinse aid dispensing and reducing salt added to the water softener. Salt compartment must still be filled.
  • Rinse aid: Top up in the rinse aid compartment for faster drying and spotless dishes. Dosage can be adjusted from 1 (low) to 6 (high) to prevent water marks or sticky film/streaks.

Water Softener:

  • The built-in water softener requires adjustment to the local water hardness (specified in °dH or °fH).
  • Fill the salt compartment with large grain or special dishwasher salt. Pour 1 liter of water first, then up to 1.5 kg of salt.
  • A dishwashing program must be started immediately after adding salt to avoid rust stains. Never pour detergent into the salt compartment.

Starting and Stopping:

  • Main power switch: Press and hold to turn on/off.
  • Program selection: Press the program selector until the desired symbol is activated.
  • Starting: Close the door to begin the program.
  • Adding dishes: Open the door; the dishwasher will pause. Close the door to resume.
  • Stopping/changing program: Open the door, press and hold the main power switch until the display turns off. Select a new program and close the door.
  • After program ends: "End" appears on the display. The dishwasher switches off automatically. Turn off the water tap.

Maintenance Features

Filter System: The filter system consists of a coarse filter, a flat (main) filter, and a microfilter, designed to prevent food remnants from entering the pump.

  • Cleaning: The filter must be cleaned regularly for best performance. Remove larger food particles after each wash cycle by rinsing the semicircular filter and cup under running water.
  • Removal: Turn the filter counterclockwise and lift the filter assembly up.
  • Important: Do not use the dishwasher without filters. Incorrectly fitted filters can affect dishwashing results.

Spray Arms:

  • Cleaning: Holes and bearings can become blocked. Remove debris using a pin.
  • Removal:
    • Lower spray arm: Pull straight up.
    • Upper spray arm: Pull out the upper basket, then unscrew the spray arm bearings counterclockwise.
  • Ensure spray arms are fitted firmly back into place.

Door:

  • Clean the edge around the door with a slightly damp cloth.

Limescale Deposits:

  • If hard water causes limescale build-up in the stainless steel tub, run the Intensive wash program with two tablespoons of citric acid in the detergent compartment (without dishes).

Front Panel:

  • Keep buttons clean and free from grease. Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Turn off the dishwasher before cleaning buttons to prevent unintentional activation.

Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues, including:

  • Display faults (E1, E3, E4): Water inlet fault, not reaching required temperature, overfilling.
  • Buttons not reacting: Pressed too soon, dirty, door closed.
  • Cannot close door: Baskets incorrectly positioned, dishes blocking.
  • Dishwasher not starting: Door not properly closed, program interrupted, fuse tripped, plug not connected, water tap off, overflow/leaks, delayed start selected.
  • Dishes not clean: Spray arms not rotating, old/incorrect detergent, weak program, incorrect loading, toppled glasses, incorrectly fitted filter.
  • Spots on stainless steel/silver: Foodstuffs left too long, contact with other metals.
  • Spots/films on dishes: Leaking water softener, incorrect water softener/rinse aid setting, empty salt compartment, 3-in-1 detergent activated, high temperature/too much detergent.
  • Sticky white/blue film: Rinse aid dosage too high.
  • Spots after washing: Lipstick/tea stains (suggests detergent with bleaching agent).
  • Rattling sound: Dishes not placed securely, spray arms not rotating.
  • Water remains: Blocked/kinked drainage hose, blocked filters, debris in drainage pump.
  • Bad odour: Dirt around seals/corners, prolonged low-temperature programs.
  • Dishes not dry enough: Low drying power, not fully loaded, low rinse aid, door not opened after program.

Installation:

  • Requires professional installation for electricity, water, and drainage connections.
  • Follow local regulations.
  • Wear protective gloves and use two people for installation.
  • Place a watertight protective tray beneath the dishwasher.
  • Test the dishwasher by running the Rinse program before screwing it into place to check for leaks and proper filling/draining.
  • Turn off water supply and disconnect power during installation.
  • Ensure the installation area is firm and adjust feet for level placement.
  • Drainage hose: Maximum 3m extension (total length max 4.5m), internal diameter at least 14mm. Must discharge at least 350mm above the bottom of the machine, no kinks.
  • Water supply: Use provided supply hose, fit a stopcock, ensure easy access. Connect to cold water if using oil or electricity for home heating.
  • Electrical connection: Must be connected to an earthed socket, placed outside installation area for accessibility. Do not use an extension cord.
