Toasting
The darkness signicantly depends on the type, the freshness, and the ingredients in the bread
used. For example, increased protein and sugar content or calcium result in increased darkening
while fats and preservatives reduce the darkening. Depending on your personal taste and bread,
you should rst start with a low darkness setting and then gradually increase it until you have
reached the darkness you desire.
ATTENTION!
❐ Burn hazard! The toaster housing becomes hot during operation! Only touch the designated
handles and buttons on the device for this purpose!
❐ Before using the toaster, make sure that the crumb tray has been inserted all the way.
❐ Never place the roll rack on the device when you are toasting bread in the toasting slots.
You could burn yourself when removing the bread.
❐ With conventional wheat toast or thick slices, setting the darkness setting too high may
blacken the toast and produce smoke. In such a case, immediately abort the toasting process
using the STOPP (stop) button.
1. Place the toaster on a dry and heat-resistant, level surface with sufcient space to ammable
objects. Please ensure that the toaster is not accessible for children or animals.
2. Insert the plug in a properly installed, 230 V earthed socket with earthing contacts.
3. Insert one slice of bread into each of the toasting slots. Do not use excessively thick slices.
The bread may not jam in the slot.
4. With the dial, set the desired darkness setting between level 1 (low; very lightly browned)
and level 7 (high; intensely browned).
Prolonged use of the device with the same darkness setting will result in the last slices
being darker than slices toasted earlier.
5. Push the operating lever down until it locks into place. Please note: The operating lever only
locks in place if the device is connected with a socket.
The bread is lowered and the device is activated. The operating light is illuminated during
the toasting process.
6. If necessary, select the functions ‘Defrost’ or ‘Reheat’ (see sections “Toasting frozen bread”
and “Reheating bread”).
7. Once the toasting process is complete, the operating lever and the bread will automatically
pop up and the device will turn off. The operating light will go off. You can manually abort
the toasting process at any time by pushing the STOPP (stop) button.
8. Carefully remove the bread from the toasting slot.
Interrupting the toasting process
The operating light will illuminate as you start the toasting process. Press the STOPP (stop)
button to interrupt the toasting process early. The bread pops up and the operating light goes
out.
