Remove the intake valve and clean it, checking the balls and seats for nicks and replacing them if necessary. Strain the paint before using it to remove particles that could clog the pump. Finally, replace the packings and check the piston valve seat for hardened paint or nicks, replacing it if necessary. Tighten the packing nut/wet-cup.
