ergized. At the time the LINE contactor is acti-
vated:
1. The DRIVE contactor is de-energized to
isolate the motor and utility power from
the output of the drive to prevent
backfeeding.
2. The drive’s emergency shutdown cir-
cuitry is activated.
The required time delay before automatic
transfer is determined by the application and
the amount of inertia in each individual sys-
tem. Delay time selection is determined by
4TMR3 in the bypass circuitry.

This three position manual switch will connect
the output of the drive to either motor #1 or
motor #2. In the middle “OFF” position, neither
motor is connected to the drive.

SELECTION (optional)
When motor alternation is required for an ap-
plication which has a backup or redundant sys-
tem, such as a lead/lag pumping system, CON-
TACTOR MOTOR SELECTION is typically
provided.
In this system only one motor may be operated
at any time. Motor operation is determined via
a three position door mounted selector switch.
Motor #1 position connects that motor to the
drive through a contactor. Motor # 2 position
connects that motor through a second contac-
tor. With the switch in the AUTO position, mo-
tor selection is determined via a customer con-
tact closure.
