Overview

This document describes the GRAM KIP 17266 N and KIP 17266 N X cooker, an appliance designed for household use. It emphasizes safety, efficient operation, and proper maintenance.

Function Description

The cooker features an oven and an induction hob. The oven is equipped with an electronic programmer and retractable knobs for function selection. It offers various heating functions, including:

  • Defrosting: For thawing frozen food.
  • Quick oven pre-heat: Rapidly heats the oven to the desired temperature.
  • Fan cooking: Uses a fan to circulate heat for even cooking.
  • ECO: An energy-saving function for various dishes like sponge cake, yeast cake, fish, beef, pork, and chicken.
  • Pizza: Optimized for baking pizzas.
  • Conventional: Uses top and bottom heating elements.
  • Pastry: Ideal for baking pastries.
  • Pyrolytic cleaning: A self-cleaning function that heats the oven to a very high temperature (480°C) to burn off food residues.
  • Turbo grill: Combines grilling with fan assistance.
  • Super grill: Uses a powerful grill element.
  • Grill: Standard grilling function.
  • Lighting: Illuminates the oven interior.

The oven also includes a child safety lock on the door, which prevents accidental opening. The appliance is supplied with the lock engaged. It can be released for opening and re-engages automatically when the door is closed.

The induction hob consists of four cooking zones with variable heating power, controlled by rotary dials. It features a pan detector that automatically starts heating when a suitable pan is placed on a zone and stops when removed. An automatic parboiling function allows for initial full heating before returning to a set power level, useful for dishes requiring intensive initial heating followed by low-power cooking. The hob also has a child lock function to disable cooking zones and a residual heat indicator ("H") to show when a zone is still hot.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Voltage rating: 230V~50 Hz
  • Power rating: max. 11.0 kW
  • Cooker dimensions (H/W/D): 90 / 60 / 60.5 cm
  • Oven temperature range: Up to 250°C (for general cooking), 480°C (for pyrolytic cleaning).
  • Induction hob cooking zones:
    • Front left: Ø 210 mm, 2000 W / 300W
    • Back left: Ø 160 mm, 1200 W / 1400W
    • Back right: Ø 210 mm, 2000 W / 300W
    • Front right: Ø 160 mm, 1200 W / 1400W
  • Cookware compatibility: Requires ferromagnetic base materials (enamelled steel, cast iron, special stainless steel). Minimum diameter for cookware is specified for each cooking zone (e.g., 110 mm for 160-180 mm zones, 125 mm for 220x190 mm zones).
  • Oven fittings: Grill grate (drying rack), baking tray, roasting tray, meat probe, and sideracks.

Usage Features

  • Electronic Programmer: The oven's electronic programmer displays the time and allows for setting various functions. It uses touch sensors for interaction, confirmed by a beep. If the current time is not set, oven operation is impossible.
  • Retractable Knobs: The oven features retractable knobs for a sleek design. To select a function, press and release a knob to make it pop out, then turn it to the desired setting.
  • Meat Probe: Allows for precise temperature control when roasting meat. The probe displays the internal meat temperature, ensuring optimal cooking results. Recommended meat probe temperatures are provided for various types of meat (e.g., Pork 85-90°C, Beef 80-85°C).
  • Timed Operation: The oven and hob can be set for timed operation, allowing for delayed starts and automatic shutdowns. The duration can be adjusted, and indicators show when timed functions are active.
  • Temperature Adjustment: Oven temperature can be adjusted in 5°C steps (or 10°C steps by holding the knob) within the specified range for each program.
  • Oven Door Safety: The oven door automatically disconnects heating elements when opened. An acoustic signal alerts if the door remains open for more than 60 seconds, and programs are canceled if it stays open for over 10 minutes.
  • Operating Time Limit: For safety, oven operation is time-limited based on the set temperature (e.g., 10 hours for temperatures up to 100°C, 3 hours for 200°C or more).
  • Induction Hob Operation: The induction hob works by generating a magnetic field that induces eddy currents in ferromagnetic cookware, causing it to heat up directly. This ensures high efficiency and immediate heating/cooling.
  • Child Lock (Hob): Can be activated when all hob knobs are at "0" position by simultaneously turning knobs [1] and [4] to the left and holding for 3 seconds. Deactivated by turning both knobs to "P" and holding for 1 second, then returning to "0".
  • Energy Saving: The manual provides tips for saving energy, such as using proper pan sizes, ensuring dry pan bases, using lids, and utilizing residual heat. The ECO functions are specifically designed for energy efficiency.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning:
    • General: The cooker should be cleaned regularly after each use, ensuring it is switched off and cooled down.
    • Oven: Clean after every use with warm water and a small amount of washing-up liquid. Avoid abrasive cleaners. The oven lighting helps to see surfaces better during cleaning.
    • Ceramic Hob: Clean regularly, preferably while still warm (after the residual heat indicator goes off). Avoid abrasive cleaners, sharp metal scrapers (except for a special scraper for firmly stuck spillages), and steam cleaning devices. Use light cleaning products or warm water with washing-up liquid.
    • Pyrolytic Cleaning: This self-cleaning function simplifies oven maintenance by burning off residues at 480°C. The oven door locks during this process for safety.
  • Door Removal: The oven door can be removed for easier cleaning of the oven chamber and the inner glass panels. This involves tilting the hinge safety catches and carefully pulling out the door. The inner glass panels can also be removed for cleaning.
  • Halogen Bulb Replacement: The halogen bulb in the oven can be replaced. Ensure the appliance is disconnected from the mains to avoid electric shock.
  • Regular Inspections: Periodic inspections of control elements and cooking units are recommended every two years by a qualified service centre.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual includes a section on error codes (E1-E5, Prob) and a table for common problems and their solutions (e.g., appliance not working, oven lighting not working).
