The GXP178x is not pre-congured to support or
make emergency calls to any type of hospital, law
enforcement agency, medical care unit (“Emergency
Service(s)”) or any other kind of Emergency Service.
You must make additional arrangements to access
Emergency Services. It is your responsibility to
purchase SIP-compliant Internet telephone service,
properly congure the GXP178x to use that service,
and periodically test your conguration to conrm
that it works as you expected. If you do not do so, it
is your responsibility to purchase traditional wireless
or landline telephone services to access Emergency
Services.

The GXP178x is a next generation small-to-medium business IP phone that fea-
tures 8 lines with up to 4 SIP accounts, 200x80 pixel backlit LCD display, 4 XML
programmable context-sensitive soft keys, 32 digitally programmable & customiz-
able BLF/fast-dial keys, dual switched auto-sensing 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports
(10/100/1000Mbps for GXP1782), integrated PoE, 5-way voice conferencing, and
Electronic Hook Switch (EHS). The GXP178x delivers superior HD audio qual-
ity on the handset and speakerphone, rich and leading edge telephony features,
automated provisioning for easy deployment, advanced security protection for pri-
vacy, and broad interoperability with most 3rd party SIP devices and leading SIP/
NGN/IMS platforms.
