Direction Control Pedal
Depress the front of the direction control pedal to move
the unit forward. Depress the back of the pedal to move
backward. Take your foot off the pedal to put unit in
neutral.
Seat Adjuster
Pull the adjustment lever out to slide the seat forward
and backward. Release the lever and ensure the seat is
locked into position.
Choke Control
Pull the choke control out to start a cold engine. Push
the control in when the engine gets warm.
PRESTART
Check oil and fuel levels before starting engine.
STARTING THE ENGINE
Operate unit from operators seat only.
Make sure the PTO is in OFF position.
If engine is cold, pull out choke control.
If the engine is hot, speed up throttle setting.
Using the key, start the engine.
Disengage the parking brake.
NOTE:
Driving the unit with the brake lever on can
damage the transmission. Moving the directional
control pedal with the parking brake engaged will shut
off the engine.
MOWING
Use the direction control pedal to move unit forward or
backward.
To engage the mower, follow these steps:
1. Allow direction control pedal to return to neutral
position.
2. Slow throttle to about half speed.
3. Move PTO switch to ON position.
4. Depress direction control pedal for desired
mowing speed.
5. Move PTO switch to OFF position disengage
mower.
STOPPING
1. Allow direction control pedal to return to the
neutral position.
2. Move throttle lever to SLOW position.
3. Turn the ignition key to OFF position.
PARKING
1. Stop unit as directed above.
2. Engage parking brake.
3. Remove ignition key.
MOVING UNIT MANUALLY
To manually push the unit short distances:
1. Stop engine.
2. Turn transmission bypass lever (located on right
front side of transmission) counterclockwise until
it stops in released position. (Figure 1)
NOTE:
Forcing the lever beyond the stop point may
damage the transmission bypass shaft.
IMPORTANT:
Pushing or pulling tractor with another
vehicle may result in transmission damage.
3. Release parking brake.
4. Push unit to desired location.
5. Apply parking brake and turn transmission
bypass lever clockwise until it stops in the drive
position.
CAUTION:
Use slow speeds until you learn
how to operate the unit safely. Practice in a
at, open area until you are comfortable and
condent with the control of the unit.
WARNING:
Fuel is highly ammable and its
vapors are explosive. Handle with care. NO
smoking, NO sparks, NO ames.
CAUTION:
Never engage the PTO if the
mower is plugged with grass or other material.
It may cause damage to the PTO belt and /or
the electric clutch.
WARNING:
Do not activate the transmission
bypass lever while the engine is running.
