  Excessive noise in your Greenheck Fan can stem from several sources. Start by checking if the fan wheel is rubbing against the inlet and adjust the wheel or inlet cone accordingly. Then, tighten the wheel hub or bearing collars on the shaft. Also, examine the bearings. If they are defective, replace them and lubricate the new bearings, tightening any loose collars and fasteners. Check the belts and tighten sheaves on the motor/fan shaft. Adjust belt tension and ensure sheaves are properly aligned. If belts or sheaves are worn, replace them. Finally, if the wheel is out of balance, replace or rebalance it.

Why is there low airflow (cfm) in my Greenheck ERV-522 Fan?

  If your Greenheck Fan has low airflow (CFM), first check if the blower fan speed is too low and verify that the drives and RPMs match the catalog data. Also, check the blower rotation. Ensure correct fan-to-duct connections and make sure dampers open appropriately. Increasing the fan speed may also help.

  If one or both blowers of your Greenheck Fan turn off, it may be due to blower fan motor overloads tripping, in which case you should decrease the fan speed. It could also be that the exhaust only or On/Off frost control sensors are tripping; if so, adjust the frost temperature sensor set point as needed.
