Why is my Greenheck ERVe making excessive noise and vibration?

  Excessive noise or vibration in your Greenheck Fan can stem from several issues. It could be due to the fan wheel rubbing on the inlet, which requires adjusting the wheel or inlet cone and tightening the wheel hub or bearing collars on the shaft. Other potential causes include defective, misaligned, or unlubricated bearings (replace/lubricate/realign/tighten), an out-of-balance wheel (replace/rebalance), a loose wheel on the shaft (tighten setscrew), or loose motor/blower sheave (tighten setscrew). Also, check for loose or overtightened belts (adjust/replace), a loose motor base or blower (tighten bolts), material buildup on the wheel (clean), or noise transmitted by the duct (ensure proper support/stiffness/size).

What to do if the energy wheel does NOT turn in my Greenheck Fan?

  If the energy wheel of your Greenheck Fan isn't turning, several factors could be at play. Begin by ensuring the wheel drive is plugged in and has power. Check for loose or broken drive belts, replacing them if necessary. If the VFD is overloaded (OL1 on readout), consult the VFD section and compare the motor amp rating to the setting in the VFD, adjusting as needed. Also, check if the air seals are too tight (see the Energy Recovery Wheel section under Unit Start-Up) or if the economizer sensors are operating (adjust temperature or enthalpy set points).
