  If the line on your GreenWorks Trimmer isn't advancing, several factors could be at play. The lines might be welded together, in which case you should lubricate them with silicone spray. Alternatively, there might not be enough line on the spool, so install more. If the lines are worn too short, try advancing the cutting line. Lastly, the lines could be tangled on the spool; remove them and rewind them properly.

  If grass is winding around the trimmer head and motor housing of your GreenWorks Trimmer, it may be because you are cutting tall grass at ground level. Cut tall grass from the top down, removing no more than 8" in each pass to prevent wrapping.

  Your GreenWorks Trimmer might stop during cutting due to several reasons. Ensure the guard is properly attached to the machine after removing the battery pack. Also, check that you're using the correct nylon cutting line with a 0.08" (2 mm) diameter. If the grass winds around the motor shaft or trimmer head, stop the machine, remove the battery pack, and clear the grass. If the motor is overloaded, remove the trimmer head from the grass, and it should recover. When cutting, move the trimmer head in and out of the grass, removing no more than 8" in a pass. Additionally, the battery pack or machine might be too hot; allow them to cool down. Confirm that the battery pack is correctly installed. Finally, the battery pack could be depleted, so try charging it.
