How to fix GreenWorks Trimmer line that won't advance?

  If the line on your GreenWorks Trimmer isn't advancing, it could be due to several reasons. The lines might be welded together; try lubricating them with silicone spray. There might not be enough line on the spool, so install more line. The lines could be worn too short, in which case you should advance the cutting line. Alternatively, the lines might be tangled on the spool; remove them and rewind them properly.

First, ensure the guard is properly attached to the machine; if not, remove the battery pack and attach the guard. Second, check that you are using the correct cutting line, specifically a nylon cutting line of 0.065" (1.65 mm) diameter. Third, grass may be wound around the motor shaft or trimmer head; if so, stop the machine, remove the battery pack, and clear away the grass. Fourth, the motor might be overloaded; remove the trimmer head from the grass, and it should recover, also when cutting, move the trimmer head in and out of the grass, removing no more than 8" in a single pass. Fifth, the battery pack or machine may be too hot; cool them down. Sixth, the battery pack may be disconnected; reinstall it....
