How to fix GrillBoss Grill burner that won't light with igniter?
    • V
      Vincent LeeAug 19, 2025
If the burner on your GrillBoss Grill won't light using the igniter, start by checking the LP gas tank valve to ensure it's open and the regulator is securely attached. If the tank is low or empty, refill or replace it. Also, make sure there's no gas leak. If the problem persists, clean any cooking residue from the wires or electrode with rubbing alcohol and dry any wet components with a cloth. If the electrode is cracked or the wire is loose, you may need replacement parts.

What to do if my GrillBoss Grill has a persistent grease fire?
    • A
      Amber Simpson DVMAug 22, 2025
A persistent grease fire in your GrillBoss Grill is likely caused by grease trapped by food buildup around the burner system. To resolve this: * Turn the control knobs to “OFF”. * Turn the LP gas tank valve to “CLOSED”. * Leave the lid closed and let the fire burn out. After the grill cools, remove and clean all parts.

Why is the flame yellow or orange on my GrillBoss Grill?
    • J
      Joseph ParkAug 26, 2025
If the flame is yellow or orange on your GrillBoss Grill, it could be due to several reasons. New burners might have residual manufacturing oils, so burn the grill for 15 minutes on high with the lid closed. Another cause could be spider webs or insect nests in the venturi, so clean the venturi. Food residue or grease on the burners can also cause this, so clean the burner. Finally, check the alignment of the valve to the burner/venturi tube and ensure it's properly engaged.

    • C
      Christopher LynchAug 28, 2025
If the burner on your GrillBoss Grill won't light with a match, first check if the LP gas tank is empty and exchange, refill, or replace if needed. If the tank isn't empty, check for a sudden drop in gas flow or reduced flame height. Also, ensure the coupling nut and regulator are fully connected. Clear any obstruction of gas flow, like a bent or kinked hose, and reengage the burner to the valve if disengaged. Finally, clean the burner/venturi tube to remove any spider webs or insect nests, and clean the burner ports if clogged or blocked.

Why is there a sudden drop in gas flow in my GrillBoss Grill?
    • J
      Jennifer WilliamsAug 31, 2025
A sudden drop in gas flow or reduced flame height in your GrillBoss Grill is often due to running out of gas, so exchange, refill, or replace the LP gas tank. It's also possible that the overfilling prevention device has been activated. In that case: 1. Turn control knobs to “ OFF”. 2. Wait 30 seconds and light grill. 3. If flames are still too low, reset the overfilling prevention device: * Turn control knob(s) “ OFF”. * Turn LP gas tank valve to “CLOSED”. * Disconnect regulator. * Turn control knobs to (HIGH). * Wait 1 minute. * Turn control knobs to “ OFF”. * Reconnect regulator and leak check connections, being careful not to fully open valve. * Light grill.

Overview

This document is the owner's manual for an Outdoor LP Gas Barbecue Grill, Model No. GBC1306J, manufactured by RevoAce, Inc. It provides comprehensive instructions for assembly, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure safe and effective use of the appliance.

Function Description

The GrillBoss Outdoor LP Gas Barbecue Grill is designed for residential outdoor cooking using liquid propane (LP) gas. It features multiple burners, cooking grids, and heat plates to facilitate various grilling tasks. The grill is equipped with a lid, a temperature gauge, and control knobs to manage heat and cooking conditions. A warming rack is also included for keeping food warm or for indirect cooking. The grill's design incorporates side shelves for convenience, a condiment basket, and a grease cup system to manage drippings. It is intended for use only in well-ventilated outdoor areas, away from combustible materials and enclosed spaces.

Usage Features

The grill operates exclusively with LP gas cylinders, which must be constructed and marked in accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) or Canadian standards (CAN/CSA-B339). The LP gas cylinder must be arranged for vapor withdrawal and equipped with a listed overfilling prevention device (OPD) and a cylinder collar to protect the valve. Users are instructed to always perform a leak test before lighting the grill and each time the cylinder is connected. This involves creating a leak detection solution from dishwashing soap and water and applying it to connections; the appearance of bubbles indicates a leak.

To light the grill, the lid must be open, and all control knobs should be in the "OFF" position before connecting the LP gas tank and turning its valve to "OPEN." Users then push and turn a control knob to "HIGH" to ignite the burner. If ignition does not occur within 5 seconds, the burner control knob should be turned "OFF," and users must wait 5 minutes for gas to clear before attempting to light again. A lighting rod is provided for manual ignition if the igniter fails. After lighting, users should observe the burner flame to ensure all ports are lit and the flame height is appropriate (soft blue flames with yellow tips, 1-2 inches high).

The grill is designed to operate at an inlet pressure of 11 inches water column. Users are warned against operating the grill unattended, especially during preheating or burning off food residue on high, as this can lead to grease fires. In the event of a grease fire, control knobs should be turned to "OFF," the LP gas tank valve "CLOSED," and the lid opened to allow the gas to clear. Water should never be used on a grease fire; instead, a type BC dry chemical fire extinguisher, dirt, sand, or baking soda should be used to smother the flames. To minimize flare-ups, users are advised to trim excess fat from meats, cook high-fat content meats on a low setting or indirectly, and ensure the grill is on a hard, non-combustible, level surface with proper grease drainage.

For turning off the grill, the LP gas tank valve should be turned to "CLOSED" first, followed by turning all control knobs clockwise to the "OFF" position. A "poof" sound is normal as the last of the LP gas burns off. The LP gas tank should then be disconnected.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and inspection are crucial for the safe and efficient operation of the grill. All cleaning and maintenance should be performed when the grill is cool and with the fuel supply disconnected. The manual explicitly states not to clean any grill part in a self-cleaning oven, as extreme heat will damage the finish, and not to enlarge valve orifices or burner ports. Abrasive cleaners and oven cleaner should not be used on any part of the grill.

Before each use, the grill area must be kept clean and free from combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors and liquids. The ventilation opening(s) of the LP gas tank area must also be kept clear from debris. Users should visually check burner flames to ensure proper operation. Airflow obstructions to the burners, such as spiders, insects, and webs in the burner/venturi tube, should be checked and cleared, as a clogged tube can lead to a fire.

For cleaning surfaces, mild dishwashing detergent or baking soda mixed with water is recommended. For stubborn surfaces, a citrus-based degreaser and a nylon scrubbing brush can be used, followed by rinsing with water and air drying.

Cleaning main burners involves turning off the LP gas tank valve and all control knobs, disconnecting the LP gas tank, and then removing cooking grids and heat plates. The burners themselves are removed by detaching their fasteners from the grill bottom. Once removed, users should lift the burners up and away from the gas valve orifice, disconnect the wire from the spark electrode, and clean the venturi of each burner with a small bottle brush or compressed air. All food residue and dirt should be removed from the burner surface, and any clogged ports should be cleaned with a stiff wire (like an opened paper clip). Burners should be inspected for damage (cracks or holes), and damaged burners must be replaced with new ones from the manufacturer. After cleaning, burners are re-installed, ensuring the gas valve orifice is correctly positioned inside each burner/venturi tube and checking the spark electrode's position. Finally, heat plates and cooking grids are replaced, the LP gas tank is reconnected, and a leak test is performed.

Before storing the grill, the LP gas tank valve should be turned to "CLOSED," all control knobs to "OFF," and the LP gas tank disconnected. All surfaces should be cleaned, and the burner(s) and cooking grid(s) should be lightly coated with cooking oil to prevent rusting. If storing the grill indoors, the LP tank must be disconnected and stored outdoors in a well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight, with its protective cap cover in place. If storing the grill outdoors, it should be covered with a grill cover for protection from the weather.
