Why does the safety valve pop on my Groen Kettle?
    • M
      Malik HoodAug 17, 2025
The safety valve on your Groen Kettle might be popping due to several reasons. It could be due to air in the jacket. Also, check if the kettle was being heated empty when the valve popped. Other potential causes include a faulty pressure limit switch, incorrect thermostat operation (the thermostat should click when the dial is rotated above and below the temperature setting), a defective safety valve (replace if it pops below 48 PSI), or a contactor issue (determine whether it is de-energized).

Why is the safety valve leaking steam on my Groen Kettle?
    • M
      Michael ReynoldsAug 31, 2025
If the safety valve on your Groen Kettle leaks a small amount of steam during operation, it could be due to contamination preventing the valve from seating properly. With full pressure in the jacket, pull the chain all the way briefly to blow the valve clean, then let it snap back to seat the valve. Another reason may be defects in the safety valve itself; replace any defective valve with an identical one.

If your Groen Kettle isn't heating up and the heating indicator isn't on, check the electric power supply to the unit and the water level in the jacket. Also, inspect the control circuit fuses in the control console, replacing any blown fuses with a fuse of the same amp rating. Check for loose or broken wires, the operation of the variable thermostat, the low water cutout switch, the water probe, and ensure that the high limit pressure switch is closed.
