4 Wait about 15 seconds after you have started a greasing cycle. Then slowly turn
the test screw further anti-clockwise until the greasing cycle ends (air will start
escaping from the pump).
5 Wait about 15 seconds and start a greasing cycle again.
Replacing the grease cartridge
The CompAlube pump unit is fitted with a grease cartridge that can be replaced
easily and quickly:
1 Before you remove the cover of the cartridge: clean the pump unit and its
surroundings to prevent dirt from entering the pump during cartridge
replacement.
2 The transparent cover has a bayonet catch. Turn it counter-clockwise and lift it
from the pump unit.
3 Remove the empty grease cartridge. Unscrew it counter-clockwise and lift it clear.
Attention: Grease may leak from the cartridge if it is not completely empty.
Prevent grease spills from polluting the environment.
4 Remove the cardboard disc and the rubber gasket, and replace them with new
ones (supplied with the new cartridge). Be sure to fit the cartridge with only a
single rubber gasket!
5 Take a new cartridge that contains the right type of grease, remove its cap, but
do not remove the foil that seals the opening of the cartridge.
6 Place the cartridge onto the pump unit and screw it clockwise. The seal is
automatically broken as the cartridge is screwed in.
7
Clean the transparent cover, place it on the pump unit and turn it clockwise to
lock it
.
Bleeding the system
If the grease cartridge was allowed to become completely empty, the pump may
need bleeding:
1 If the system is currently busy on a greasing cycle: Depress the test screw, at the
right hand side of the pump unit, and turn it slowly anti-clockwise until the
running or greasing cycle ends (some air will start escaping from the pump).
2 Open the vent screw (left hand side of the pump).
3 Again depress the test screw and turn it slowly anti-clockwise until a greasing
cycle starts (you will hear air flowing to the pump).
4 Close the vent screw.
5 Repeat this procedure (steps 1 to 4) until a solid stream of grease flows from the
vent opening.
