There must be a distance of at least 1 metre between
2 islands and up to the rst island. If the distance is
shorter, the obstacles must be enclosed as one island
instead.
The boundary cable must not cross itself at any time.
Distance to obstacles
When the sensors at the front of the robot lawnmower
register the boundary cable, the robot lawnmower
changes direction.
Therefore, the boundary cable should be 30 cm from
the edge of the obstacle.
The following count as obstacles:

regardless of whether they are higher or lower. The
robot lawnmower can easily move over paved paths
that are level with the lawn. Make sure that the
boundary cable does not lie loose on the path, as
there is a risk it will be cut by the robot lawnmowers
blades.
Note: Fence in hazardous areas
If there is a garden pond or a high edge down to a lower
level in the garden, this should be fenced in to prevent
the robot lawnmower accidentally sliding down into
them, for instance if the grass is wet.
Note: Remove or even out any low obstacles
Stumps, covers, etc. that the robot lawnmower may
run onto and get stuck on should either be removed,
adjusted so that they are level with the lawn, or
enclosed using the boundary cable, with a distance of
30 cm all the way around the obstacle.
