8. How to Solve Errors
Warning!
As soon as uncontrolled steam
emerges, remove the source of heat.
The device is not to be used again until
the error has been corrected. Only a slight
emergence of steam from pressure regulator 6 is
normal.
Error Cause Solution
Steam is escaping from
between the lid and the base
Appliance not closed correctly Close the appliance again correctly
Sealing ring is dirty Clean the sealing ring
Sealing ring is broken/worn
away
Replace the sealing ring (1 x year)
No steam is coming from the
pressure regulator
Steam is escaping from
between the lid and the base
See previous error
Pressure regulator is dirty Clean the pressure regulator (see
"7.2 Cleaning the pressure cooker"
on page 26)
Not enough liquid in the
appliance
Slowly cool down the appliance
and fill with at least 0.25 l fluids
Heat supply too low Increase the heat supply (turn the
hob to a higher setting)
Too much steam is coming from
the pressure regulator
Heat supply too high Decrease the heat supply (turn the
hob to a lower setting)
Pressure regulator is dirty Clean the pressure regulator (see
"7.2 Cleaning the pressure cooker"
on page 26)
Steam is escaping laterally
from the pressure regulator
The pressure regulator is not
correctly fitted
Fit the pressure regulator correctly.
Steam is escaping from the
safety opening
The pressure regulator is soiled Take the pressure cooker off the
stove and allow it to cool down.
Then clean the pressure regulator
(see "7.2 Cleaning the pressure
cooker" on page 26)
The pressure regulator is
defective
Exchange the pressure regulator for
a new one
The safety valve is defective Exchange the safety valve (see
"Service Address:" on page32).
The lid does not open There is too much pressure in
the appliance
Follow the instructions in
"6.4 Opening the pressure cooker"
on page 25
