Overview

This document provides a user manual for a Haier hob, detailing its installation, operation, maintenance, and safety instructions.

Function Description

The Haier hob is a cooking appliance designed for domestic use. It features multiple cooking zones with touch controls, a timer function, and various power levels. The appliance is designed to be built into a kitchen countertop, providing a sleek and integrated look. Its primary function is to heat cookware for cooking food, offering precise temperature control and safety features to ensure efficient and safe operation.

Important Technical Specifications

The hob is available in different configurations, with varying power levels for its cooking zones. The maximum power level for the hob can be 2.5 kW, 5 kW, or 7 kW, depending on the model. The electrical connection requires a three-phase 220-240 V or 380-415 V2N supply, or a single-phase 220-240 V supply, depending on the model and installation country. The supply cable type should be HO5V2V2-F.

The dimensions for installation vary, but typically require a minimum distance of 55 mm between the hob and the back wall, and 150 mm between the hob and the vertical furniture or walls on the lateral side. The minimum distance required for a hood above the hob is 700 mm. The hob itself has a minimum depth of 70 mm and a maximum depth of 10 mm from the front edge of the countertop. The cutout dimensions for installation are approximately 703 mm (width) by 493 mm (depth), with a slot depth of 5 mm.

The hob incorporates a safety shutdown feature that automatically turns off the appliance if a cooking zone remains active for an extended period without user interaction. The maximum operating time for each power level is specified in a table, ranging from 10 hours for power level 1 to 2 hours for power level 9.

Usage Features

The hob is operated via touch controls located on the appliance's surface.

  • Power On/Off: The hob can be turned on by touching the ON/OFF button. To turn off, touch and hold the ON/OFF button for 10 seconds.
  • Power Level Selection: Power levels can be adjusted using "+" and "-" keys. The hob offers multiple power levels, typically from 1 to 9, and a "P" (Power) function for maximum heat.
  • Timer Function: A timer can be set for each cooking zone, allowing for precise cooking times. The timer can be set for up to 99 minutes. When the timer expires, an audible signal will sound, and the cooking zone will turn off.
  • Child Lock: The child lock function can be activated to prevent accidental operation of the hob, making it safe when children are around. To activate, touch the child lock button for 2 seconds. To deactivate, repeat the process.
  • Pause Function: This feature allows temporary pausing of the cooking process. When activated, the hob will stop heating, and the timer will pause. To resume, touch the pause button again.
  • Double/Triple Zones: Some models may feature expandable cooking zones that can be activated to accommodate larger cookware. These zones are typically indicated by specific symbols on the control panel.
  • Residual Heat Indicator: After a cooking zone is turned off, an "H" symbol will appear on the display to indicate that the surface is still hot, warning users not to touch it.
  • Automatic Safety Off: If a cooking zone is left on for an extended period without any changes in settings, the hob will automatically switch off. The duration before automatic shutdown depends on the selected power level.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of the hob.

  • Cleaning: The hob should be cleaned regularly after each use, once it has cooled down.
    • Daily Cleaning: For light cleaning, use a soft cloth or sponge with warm water and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals that could scratch the ceramic glass surface.
    • Stubborn Stains: For more persistent stains, use a specialized ceramic hob cleaner and a scraper designed for ceramic glass. Gently scrape off burnt-on food residues, then wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
    • Metal Parts: For metal parts, use a soft cloth with warm water and mild soap, then rinse and dry.
  • Cookware Advice: Use good quality cookware with flat, thick bottoms to ensure even heat distribution and prevent damage to the hob. Avoid using aluminum foil or plastic containers on heating zones.
  • Problem Solving: The manual includes a troubleshooting section to help users identify and resolve common issues, such as cooking zones not heating, the hob not turning on, or error codes appearing on the display. For more complex problems, users are advised to contact Haier's Aftercare Service.
  • Aftercare Service: In case of a fault that cannot be resolved through troubleshooting, contact the Aftercare Service. Ensure that the appliance is correctly installed and that the power supply is functioning correctly before calling for service.
  • Environmental Protection: The appliance is marked according to European Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), indicating that it should not be disposed of with general household waste. It should be taken to a designated collection point for recycling. This helps prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health.
