  If your HAMPTON BAY Fan seems louder than it should be, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the CFM rating of the fan is appropriate for your room's square footage. Also, inspect the damper for damage and proper operation; if damaged, contact Customer Service. Check that there are no sharp bends in the duct closer than 18 inches to the fan discharge. Using the recommended duct size can also reduce noise. Finally, confirm the fan body is securely attached to the ceiling joists.
