Several factors can prevent your HAMPTON BAY solar lights from activating. First, make sure nothing is blocking the solar panel. Confirm the batteries are correctly installed, ensuring proper contact with the terminals and correct polarity (+/-). Also, check the solar panel's positioning; nearby bright lights can interfere with the light sensor, preventing activation. Ensure the batteries are fully charged by placing them in direct sunlight for 12 hours before use. Cloudy weather can reduce charging efficiency and shorten operating hours. Finally, ensure the batteries are correctly seated between the metal clips in the battery compartment, as they may have become dislodged during shipping.
