Always wear safety glasses when working with the appliance� Battery acid can
cause blindness and/or serious burn injuries� Familiarise yourself with rst-aid
help on contact with acid before using the appliance
Do not smoke� Do not allow sparks or naked ames to come near the battery,
charger or engine�
Remove all metal objects from your body (rings, bracelets, necklaces, watch,
etc�) when working with lead-acid batteries� If a ring or other similar item
comes into direct or indirect electrical contact with the battery terminals, the
lead-acid battery can produce a short-circuit current which is so high that the
metal will melt� This can result in serious burns
Never allow battery acid to come into contact with the appliance
Never use the appliance in an enclosed area without adequate ventilation�
Switch o the appliance and unplug the power cord when it is not in use
Do not attempt to open the battery charger – risk of electric shock�
The appliance does not contain any parts that can be repaired by the user� The
warranty will be invalidated if the appliance is opened up�
Only use the appliance in accordance with these instructions�
Check the appliance regularly to see if any parts are damaged� Do not use the
appliance if it is damaged or not working properly, or if the power cord or plug
are damaged� Take the appliance to an authorised service centre to be
checked, repaired or adjusted�
FIRST AID
Eyes
If you get battery uid in your eyes, rinse with water for at least 15 minutes and
seek medical attention immediately
Skin
If you get battery acid on your skin, rinse immediately in plenty of fresh water and
wash thoroughly with soap and water� Seek medical attention if redness, pain or
irritation persists
