2. First Turn On - When powering up the 5.0 for the first time without first performing a Data Reset, it may be
necessary to push the “Standby” button once after the first time the unit is brought into an “On” condition. This
process of cycling the unit to “standby condition” completes the set up of the digital board. If this is not done,
the digital board may be out of “Sync” and no sound will be heard from digital sources. After this “Standby
process is performed once, digital audio will be heard whenever a digital source is accessed.
3. Front Panel Reset - After a field software upgrade or board replacement, if ESD procedures are not used,
resulting in an Electrostatic Discharge into the unit, the 5.0 may lockup causing a loss of system control. In
addition, if you accidentally turn off the front panel IR in the “System Options” menu, a front panel system reset
may be needed to unlock IR front panel control.
To reset the system from the front panel:
1. Turn off the small power button so that the small green light is off.
2. Press and hold the (Watch –) and (Volume –) buttons simultaneously.
3. While pressing these two buttons, turn on the power to the unit, then release the hold on the (Watch –)
and (Volume –) buttons.
4. Press the Standby button on the front panel.
5. Go into the System Reset menu and perform another data reset from this menu.
