The CDi DriveCore Series Power Amplifiers are high-performance installation amplifiers based on exclusive DriveCore technology, designed for challenging 21st-century installed-sound applications. These versatile, compact, and energy-efficient amplifiers continue Crown's tradition of leadership in professional and commercial power amplifier technology.

Function Description:

The CDi DriveCore amplifiers provide robust audio amplification with integrated digital signal processing (DSP) capabilities. They can be configured for various applications, including low-impedance (Low Z) and high-impedance (High Z) speaker systems, as well as bridge mono operation for increased power output. The amplifiers support both front panel and PC-based configuration and monitoring via HiQnet Audio Architect software. BLU link digital audio transport is available on specific models, allowing for up to 256 channels of digital audio over Category 5e cabling. The programmable GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output) control port and AUX port offer remote control and monitoring functionalities, such as sleep mode activation and amplifier status reporting.

Front Panel Interface: Color LCD for configuration, control, and monitoring. Encoder for navigation and volume adjustment. Channel Select buttons for individual channel control. Channel Mute buttons for muting outputs. Power button for on/off (with 2-second press for safety). Data LED for HiQnet data transmission indication.
DSP Capabilities: Input/output EQ filters (8 bands per channel), crossover, input/output delay (up to 1 second input, 100ms output), and LevelMAX™ limiters (peak voltage, RMS power, transducer thermal). Support for importing FIR filter coefficients.
Output Modes: Each channel independently configurable for Low Z (2/4/8/16Ω) or High Z (70Vrms/100Vrms) operation. Bridge mono mode available for increased power.

Protection Circuits: Advanced protection against shorted outputs, DC, mismatched loads, overheating, over/under-voltage, and high-frequency overload.
Cooling System: Front-to-back airflow with removable air filters for easy cleaning. Fan-cooled chassis with variable-speed fans.
Fault Reporting: The amplifier enters a fault state and displays the fault type (HF Detect, DCLF, Short Circuit Detect, Thermal, High/Low Voltage Rail, AC Mains) for troubleshooting.
Thermal Management: Thermal limit protection with audio compression at 80°C and shutdown at 100°C to prevent damage.
AC Under/Over-Voltage Protection: Power supply turns off and Power LED flashes if AC line voltage varies outside acceptable range, automatically turning back on when safe.
Universal Switching Power Supply: Designed for high efficiency, includes Power Factor Correction (PFC) and Series Resonant Converter (SRC) for reliability.
Factory Reset: Reverts the amplifier to its factory default state, erasing all user presets and settings.
Diagnostics Screen: Provides a read-only list of amplifier information including firmware version, AC input voltage, power supply temperature, channel temperatures, serial number, and manufactured date.
Software Updates: Firmware updates can be performed via HiQnet Audio Architect.
Warranty: Three-year, no-fault transferable warranty (United States only). Service return authorization process for repairs.
