Operation
NOTE: Stirring the starting gel into the pellets usually allows
the re to become established quicker.
CAUTION: A vapor ash could occur if too much time is
allowedtopassbeforelightingthestartinggel.
CAUTION:Caremustbetakennottogetstartinggelon
yourhands or clothing.Seriousburns could occurduring
thelightingprocess.
CAUTION:Nevertrytoapplymorestartinggeltoanalready
burningre,orarewithsmolderingpellets.
“NEVER USE GASOLINE, GASOLINE-TYPE LANTERN
FUEL, KEROSENE, CHARCOAL LIGHTER FLUID, OR
SIMILAR LIQUIDS TO START OR “FRESHEN UP “ A FIRE
IN THIS BOILER. KEEP ALL SUCH LIQUIDS WELL AWAY
FROM THE UNIT WHILE IN USE”.

12. Light The Starting Gel With A Match.
13. Close The Doors - Therewilllightandthecontrolwill
adjusttherateofburntotheproperlevel,accordingto
theMAXTEMPdialsetting.
Solid-fuelburningappliancesneedtobecleanedfrequently
becausesoot, creosote,and ashmay accumulate.If you
suspectachimney/ventpiperedothefollowing:
1. Calltheredepartment.
2. Removefuelfromtheburnpotusingtheburnpotscraping
tool to scrape the pellets into the ash pan.
3. Removetheashpanfromtheunitandtakeoutside.Do
notplacetheashpanonacombustiblematerial.
4. Turnoffcircuitbreakeratunit.
5. Donotusetheunituntilaqualiedpersonhasinspected
yourapplianceandventing.

NOTICE: When burning the boiler in the manual
ignition mode, there must be an overheat dump
zone incorporated into the plumbing system.
Ifheatingdemandstopsduringmanualoperation,thecontrol
willtaketheunittolowburn.Ifnoheatisusedduringthis
time,thewatertemperaturewillcontinuetorise.Whenthe
aquastatsenses220°F,thefeederwillbeturnedoffand
therewillgoout.Thiswillrequireamanualre-startofthe
