Cleaning Burn Pot
Wheneveryourboilerisnotburning,takethe opportunity
toscrapetheburnpottoremovecarbonbuildup.Avacuum
cleanerishandytoremovetheresidue.Be sure of no hot
embers if you use a vacuum.
Carbonbuildupcanbescrapedloosewiththereburning
usingthespecialtoolprovidedwithyourboiler.Scrapethe
oorandsidesoftheburnpot.Thecarbonwillbepushedout
bytheincomingfuel.Alwayswearglovestodothis.
Removing Ashes
Ashescanbe removed whileinoperation,but extracare
mustbetakenandalwaysweargloves.
MaximumFeedAdjuster settings are not needed in most
cases.Operatinginthenormalrange(#4)isrecommended
whenmaximum heatoutput isnot required.TheESP
preventsthestovefrombeingover-red.
Keeptheboilerfreeofdustanddirt.
Fuel
Pelletfuelsareputinto3categoriesintermsofashcontent.
Premiumat1%orless,Standardat3%orlessandallothers
at3%ormore.
TheHF60iscapableofburningall3categoriesofpellets,
duetoapatentedfeederandburnpotsystem.
Itshould be noted, however, thathigher ashcontent will
requiremorefrequentashremoval,scrapingoftheburnpot,
andmayprovidelessBTU’sperpound.Normally,standard
andhighashpelletscostlessthanpremiumpelletsandcan
becosteffectivewhenburnedintheHF60.
Themoisturecontentmustnotexceed8%.Highermoisture
willrobBTU’sandmaynotburnproperly.
