Releasethetipoftheguidebarandverifythe
chain isnow correctlytensionedusing the
guidelinesabove.
NOTE: If the chainistoo tight and will not
rotate, loosen the chain coverscrewslightly,
thenturnthechaintensioningscrew1/4turn
counterclockwise.Liftupthetipoftheguidebar,
retightenthechaincoverscrewsecurely,then
verifythechainwillnowrotatewithoutbinding.
NOTE: Newchains tend to stretch;check the
chaintensionfrequentlyandadjustasneeded.
NOTICE:
Achaintensionedwhilewarmmaybetootight
uponcooling.Checkthe“coldtension”before
nextuse.
CHAIN MAINTENANCE

WARNING:
Removethebatterypackandmakesurethe
chainhasstoppedbeforeyoudoanyworkon
thesawtoavoidaccidentalstartingandpos-
sibleseriouspersonalinjury.
Useonly low-kickback chain on thissaw. This
fast-cuttingchainwillprovidekickbackreduction
whenproperlymaintained.
Forsmoothandfastcutting,chainneedstobe
maintainedproperly.Thechainrequiressharpen-
ingwhenthewoodchipsaresmallandpowdery,
thechainmustbeforcedthroughthewooddur-
ingcutting,orthechaincutstooneside.During
maintenanceofyourchain,considerthefollowing:
Improperfilingangleofthesideplatecanin-
creasetheriskofaseverekickback.
Raker(depthgauge)clearance.
Toolowincreasesthepotentialforkickback.
Notlowenoughdecreasescuttingability.
Ifcutterteethhavehithardobjectssuchasnails
andstones,orhavebeenabradedbymudorsand
onthewood,haveservicedealersharpenchain.
NOTE: Inspectthedrivesprocketforwearordam-
agewhenreplacingthechain.Ifsignsofwearor
