reducetheweight.Thispreventsstrippingthe
bark from the main member.
Underbuckthebranch1/3throughforyourfirst
cut.
Yoursecondcutshouldoverbucktodropthe
branch off.
Now makeyour finishing cutsmoothly and
neatly against the main member so the bark
will grow back to seal the wound.
WARNING:
If the limbs to be pruned are above chest
height,hireaprofessionaltoperformtheprun-
ing. Failure to do so could result in death or
seriouspersonalinjury.

Aspringpoleisanylog,branch,rootedstump,or
saplingwhichisbentundertensionbyotherwood
sothatitspringsbackifthewoodholdingitiscut
orremoved.Onafallentree,arootedstumphas
ahighpotentialofspringingbacktotheupright
positionduringthebuckingcuttoseparatethe
logfromthestump.Watchoutforspringpoles,
they are dangerous.
WARNING:
Springpolesaredangerousandcouldstrikethe
operator,causingtheoperatortolosecontrol
ofthechainsaw.Thiscouldresultinsevereor
fatalinjurytotheoperator.
