Depending whether the engine is equipped with
or without automatic valve clearance adjustment
one of the illustrated maintenance plans is in-
cluded. This label should be affixed to the engine
or equipment in an easily visible position. The
maintenance chart governs the maintenance in-
tervals.
On new or reconditioned engines, after the
first 25 operating hours, always
– Change engine oil, Chapter 5.3.1.
– Check valve clearances and adjust if
necessary, Chapter 5.3.2.
– Examine screw connections, chapter 5.3.4.
Do not tighten the cylinder head fastening.
If the engine is not used frequently, change the
engine oil after 12 months at the latest, regard-
less of the actual number of hours it has been in
operation.
