This document describes the HH Biamped Active PA Systems, which are a range of active PA speakers designed for professional audio applications. The systems are designed and engineered by Head & Heart in the United Kingdom.
Function Description
The HH Biamped Active PA Systems are self-contained active PA speakers that feature a 500W RMS Class D amplifier for low and mid frequencies, and a 50W RMS Class A/B amplifier for high frequencies. This bi-amplified design allows for optimal power distribution and sound reproduction across the frequency spectrum. The systems incorporate advanced features such as Kevlar and glass fibre reinforced cones, high-temperature ribbon wire coils, and powerful motor structures for responsive, detailed sound. The Tessen series, specifically, utilizes 1.75" titanium diaphragm compression drivers in precision-moulded polymer cabinets, with a 1.4" exit / 2" titanium diaphragm compression drivers mounted in robust plywood cabinets. All models feature an EQ preshape switch and a balanced link output to connect to other active cabs. All are fitted with 35mm pole mounting sockets (except TNE-212A).
The speakers are designed to be used in various setups, including floor placement, suitable pole or tripod mounting (except TNE-212A), or stacked configurations, which should always be secured by suitable strapping. They can be connected to a mains inlet on the rear panel, and a line level signal to the input. The level control to minimum before switching on is recommended.

Usage Features
The HH Active PA Systems are designed for ease of use and optimal performance.
- Control Panel: The control panel features a COMBI INPUT (balanced and unbalanced XLR and jack signal), LINK OUTPUT (balanced XLR output), LEVEL CONTROL, POWER LED, CLIP LED, EQ PRESHAPE switch, PROTECT LED, FUSE, MAINS INLET IEC, MAINS SWITCH, VOLTAGE SELECT SWITCH, and HEATSINK.
- EQ Preshaping: The EQ preshape switch allows users to adjust the frequency response for different applications. The "out" position is flat across the range, while "in" engages a preshape circuit that boosts lows and treble frequencies with a small mid range cut, which is often better for DJ's.
- Voltage Selection: A factory set voltage select switch is present. It is crucial not to remove the screws securing the cover and to ensure the correct fuse is fitted for the voltage being used.
- Safety Instructions: The manual emphasizes reading all instructions, following warnings, and proper handling. This includes using a grounded mains socket, avoiding exposure to water, and ensuring proper ventilation.
- Placement: Speakers should be balanced and steady. Stacked systems require strapping for stability. Overextended poles/tripods should ensure at least 4x the pole diameter is inside the outer pole. Ensure adequate clearance for doors/other access-ways.
- Cabling: Use balanced cables for optimal signal integrity. Keep lighting cables away from speakers to prevent noise. Use proper gauge cables for power and signal. Avoid running cables across access-ways.
- Gain Structure: Set up mic levels first, and adjust other equipment to match. Avoid very high onstage levels from backline amps. When using separate power amps, turn the level of the amp to maximum. Control overall level from your mixer, not the power amp.
- Environment: Avoid damp environments and extremes of temperature. Store and use all audio equipment in suitable conditions.
- Transportation: Look after your cables. Do not stand equipment or run cases over them. Do not tie knots in them and always use them for the correct application (a signal lead is NOT a speaker lead). Coil and secure with cable ties before storing. Ensure your equipment is properly loaded and cannot move around during transit.
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning: Clean the apparatus only with a dry cloth. Do not use water or other liquids.
- Ventilation: Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Do not install near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Servicing: Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as when the power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
- Power Supply: Never break off the ground pin. Connect only to a power supply of the type marked on the unit adjacent to the power supply cord.
- Fuse Replacement: The fuse is located at the top of the IEC socket. In case of failure, replace only with the type and rating specified on the panel.
- Environmental Responsibility: This product must not be disposed of along with normal household waste. It must be taken to an approved recycling centre according to the recommendations of the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive applicable in your country.
- Product Development: HH Electronics reserves the right to amend product specification without prior notification.
