Overview

This document is the user's operation manual for Hisense washing machines, specifically covering models WDQY8014*, WDQY8014EVJM*, WDQA8014EVJM*, WDQY9014EVJM*, WDQY901418VJM*, WDQA9014EVJM*, WDQY1014EVJM*, and WDQA1014EVJM*. It provides comprehensive instructions for safe operation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Function Description:

The Hisense washing machine is designed for domestic use, offering various wash cycles and features to clean different types of fabrics. It incorporates automatic safety functions to detect and react to faults, ensuring reliable operation. Some models may also include a tumble dryer function, with specific warnings and instructions provided for its use. The appliance is intended for household and similar applications, such as staff kitchen areas, farmhouses, hotels, motels, bed and breakfast environments, and communal areas in blocks of flats or launderettes.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Maximum permissible inlet water pressure: 1 MPa (for connection to water mains).
  • Minimum permissible inlet water pressure: 0.1 MPa (if necessary for correct operation).
  • Maximum drying capacity: 7/6/5 kg (depending on model).
  • Maximum washing capacity: 10/9/8 kg (depending on model).
  • Minimum housing dimensions: Width: 615 mm, Height: 855 mm (Depth refers to the programme chart).
  • Electrical supply: Must be adequate for the machine's 10 A Current Rating.
  • Drain hose length: Max. Overall drain hose length: 2.50 m.
  • Weight: The machine is over 55 kg, requiring two persons to move it.

Usage Features:

  • Pre-wash cycle: Recommended before the first use to remove residual water from manufacturing tests.
  • Laundry sorting: Users should sort laundry by fabric type (cottons, mixed fibres, synthetics, wool, handwash), colour (separating coloured and white items, washing new coloured articles separately), and loading (mixing different sizes for efficiency).
  • Delicates handling: Small items and those with hooks should be washed in a cloth bag or pillowcase with a zip. Curtain rings should be removed or curtains washed with rings inside a cotton bag.
  • Pocket emptying and fasteners: All pockets must be emptied, and zips, buttons, or hooks fastened. Loose belts or ribbons should be tied together.
  • Stain removal: Blood, milk, and egg stains are typically removed by the automatic enzyme phase. For red wine, coffee, tea, grass, and fruit stains, a stain remover can be added to the main wash chamber. Heavily soiled areas may require pre-treatment.
  • Dyeing: Only dyes suitable for washing machines should be used, following manufacturer's instructions.
  • Loading: Articles should be loaded one at a time loosely into the drum without overfilling to avoid unsatisfactory washing results and creased laundry.
  • Detergent and additives: High-efficiency, low-foam detergent suitable for front-load machines must be used. The choice and dosage depend on fabric type, colour, wash temperature, degree of soiling, size of wash, and water hardness. The detergent drawer has three chambers for prewash/soak detergent, main wash detergent/stain remover/water softener, and fabric softener. Liquid detergents can be used for programmes with prewash, but powder detergent must be used for the main wash if "Start Delay" is activated. Special detergent balls or bags are recommended for highly concentrated detergents.
  • Emergency door opening: In case of power outage or other failures, the door lock lever at the drainage pump door can be used to open the door. This should only be done when the inner barrel has stopped turning, is not at high temperature, and the water level is below the clothing inlet.
  • Troubleshooting guide: The manual provides a list of fault codes (e.g., "F01" for water inflow fault, "F03" for drainage fault, "F13" for door lock fault, "F14" for door unlock fault, "F24" for overflow/foam, "Unb" for unbalance alarm) and corresponding actions to resolve them.

Maintenance Features:

  • Appliance exterior and control panel: Can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth and a little neutral (non-abrasive) detergent, then dried with a soft cloth.
  • Door seal: Should be cleaned with a damp cloth when necessary and checked periodically.
  • Detergent dispenser: The drawer can be removed by pressing the release lever, and the siphon in the softener slot can be removed for thorough cleaning under running water. All parts should be refitted correctly.
  • Filter: Recommended to check and clean the filter regularly (two or three times a year), especially if draining is poor or spin cycles fail, or if the pump is blocked. The process involves stopping the appliance, unplugging it, draining residual water, unscrewing and cleaning the filter and its chamber, checking pump rotor movement, and re-inserting the filter.
  • Water supply hose: Should be checked regularly for brittleness and cracks and replaced if necessary.
  • Mesh filter for water connection: Should be checked and cleaned regularly by closing the tap, loosening the inlet hose, cleaning the internal mesh filter, and then repeating the process for the inlet hose on the rear of the washing machine.
  • Transport bolts: Must be removed before using the machine and refitted in reverse order for future transport.
  • Bottom cover: For quieter operation, a bottom cover (supplied with some models) can be installed at the bottom of the washer, reducing noise levels. Instructions for attaching acoustic wool and securing the cover are provided.
