Overview

This document describes the operation and features of a Hisense washing machine, specifically models WDQA9014EVJM, WDQA9014EVJMS, WDQA9014EVJMT, WDQA9014EVJMB, WDQA1014EVJM, WDQA1014EVJMS, WDQA1014EVJMT, and WDQA1014EVJMB. The machine is equipped with automatic safety functions that detect and diagnose issues at an early stage, reacting appropriately.

Function Description

The washing machine offers a variety of programs tailored for different fabric types and soiling levels. Programs include:

  • Cotton: For heavily and moderately soiled cotton or linen, with an option for "Prewash" for very heavily soiled items.
  • Synthetics: For moderately soiled synthetics and cotton blended fabrics.
  • Wool: Specifically for machine washable wool, requiring users to refer to the clothing's washing label.
  • Quick 15': A rapid cycle for cotton and mixed fabrics, ideal for items worn for a short time or newly bought.
  • Mix: Designed for mixed loads of moderately soiled cotton and synthetic fabrics.
  • Eco40-60: A program for normally soiled cotton laundry, compliant with EU Ecodesign legislation, operating at 40°C to 60°C.
  • Rinse+Spin: A default program with two rinses and a spin cycle.
  • Spin: Allows manual selection of spin length and speed.
  • Cotton Dry: For drying wet cotton and linen clothes after spinning.
  • Synthetics Dry: For drying wet chemical fiber clothes after spinning.
  • Steam Refresh: Suitable for removing odors like smoke or barbecue from clothes.
  • Wash and Dry: A combined cycle for normally soiled cotton items washable at 40°C or 60°C, drying them for immediate cupboard storage. This cycle also assesses compliance with EU Ecodesign legislation for wash and dry.
  • 20°C: An energy-saving program for cotton clothes with light stains.
  • Allergy Care: Designed to effectively eliminate bacteria from textiles, suitable for baby clothes or those sensitive to allergens.
  • Drum Clean: A maintenance program to remove dirt and bacterial residue that can accumulate over time, especially with regular low-temperature washes.

The machine features a program selector (A), a "Start/Pause" button (B), and a display window (C) showing program and function status, remaining time, and error codes. Additional controls include "Delay End" (D), "Dry Level" (E), "Options" (F), "Spin" (G), and "Temp." (H) buttons.

Detergent Compartment: The detergent drawer is divided into sections for prewash, main wash, and softener, with specific instructions for adding detergent based on the selected program.

Wash Program Functions: Users can customize cycles by selecting temperature, spin speed, and additional options such as Prewash, Extra Rinse, Child Lock, Delay End, and Mute function.

Dry Level Functions: For drying programs, users can select specific dry levels: Iron (clothes with little water for ironing), Cupboard (clothes ready for immediate wear), Extra Dry (clothes for storage), or Time Dry (drying for a specified duration: 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1.5 hours, 2 hours, 3 hours, or 4 hours). The machine automatically adjusts dry time based on clothes weight.

Usage Features

Starting a Program:

  1. Turn on the power.
  2. Rotate the program selection button to the desired program, ensuring it passes "off" if not starting from there.
  3. Select washing temperature and spin speed using the "Temp" and "Spin" buttons.
  4. Press the "Options" button for additional functions.
  5. After setting, the display shows program length and selected options.
  6. Add detergent to the appropriate compartments and close the door.
  7. Turn on the water tap.
  8. Press the "Start/Pause" button. The screen will display program progression and remaining time.

Addition Function Selection:

  • Pre-wash: Enhances washing for heavy dirt. Detergent for pre-wash goes into the pre-wash box, and main wash detergent into the main wash box.
  • Extra Rinse: Adds an extra rinse cycle, increasing total program time.
  • Child Lock: Activated by pressing "Temp. +Spin" for 2 seconds. This shields all function buttons. It is released by repeating the action, turning the program selector to "Off," or automatically after program completion.
  • Delay End: Allows setting a reservation time for the program to finish, up to 24 hours. The delay time must be longer than the wash program length. It can be canceled by rotating the knob before starting or by turning off the machine for 2 seconds during the delay program.
  • Mute Function: Pressing "Spin + Options" for 2 seconds toggles the buzzing sound (except alarms) on or off.

Reload in Process:

  • To add clothes during a wash, press "Start/Pause." If the reload icon lights up, the door can be opened. If the icon doesn't light up, it means the water temperature is over 50°C or the reload time has passed, preventing clothes from being added.

Automatic Weighting: The machine displays "----" after startup, indicating it's weighing clothes and automatically adjusting program length.

Dry Function Specifics:

  • Before drying, confirm clothes are suitable for drying (refer to program table).
  • Ensure the water tap is open.
  • For separate drying, remove dehydrated clothes, loosen them, and place them back in the drum.
  • Small or light clothes may dry faster than the set time.
  • For hand-washing clothes, select the highest possible spin speed before drying.
  • At the end of drying, the machine will run a cycle to loosen clothes and reduce wrinkles.
  • Overloading or excessive dehydration of cotton clothes can affect drying and cause wrinkles. Loosen clothes manually if needed.
  • For chemical fiber clothes like shirts, the "Iron" mode is recommended.
  • If different materials are dried together, the dry effect may be compromised.
  • Wet, dripping clothes are not suitable for drying and may trigger an alarm.

Troubleshooting Dry Faults:

  • Washing machine does not carry out dry process: Check if the dry program is set, water tap is open, door is closed, and clothes are not excessive.
  • Dry is not sufficient: Check for excessive clothes (divide into two parts), or if clothes that are difficult to dry (e.g., thick cotton) are mixed with easy-to-dry clothes (e.g., chemical fiber). Dry different types separately.
  • Dry time is too long: Check for excessive clothes, or if clothes are not fully dewatered. Thicker clothes (denim) can also prolong drying.

Maintenance Features

Drum Clean Program: This program is specifically designed to remove dirt and bacterial residue that can accumulate inside the machine, particularly after regular low-temperature washes. Running this program periodically helps maintain hygiene and machine performance.

Inlet Water Warning: The display will show "F01" if the tap is not opened or water pressure is too low, indicating a potential issue with water supply.

Drainage Warning: The display will show "F03" if the pipe is squeezed or drainage is not smooth, indicating a blockage or issue with water outflow.

Door Lock Icon: The door locks automatically when a program starts and unlocks upon completion. During a pause, the door may unlock if conditions allow. Do not force the door open if the indicator light flashes, as this can cause injury.

General Maintenance:

  • Correct use of detergent and softeners is advised; avoid excessive detergent, as it can negatively impact washing results.
  • Periodic cleaning, including optimal frequency, and limescale prevention procedures are important for machine longevity.

End of Program:

  1. The display shows "End" when the program finishes.
  2. If no action is taken for 2 minutes, the machine turns off automatically.
  3. Rotate the program to "Off."
  4. Close the tap.
  5. Open the door and remove washed clothes.
  6. Slightly open the door to remove moisture from the pump.
