If your Home Decorators Collection Fan isn't starting, try these solutions: * Check the main and branch circuit fuses or breakers. * Inspect the line wire connections to the fan and the switch wire connections in the switch housing. * Verify the battery in the remote control is working. * Make sure you are within the normal operating range of 10-20 feet for the remote. * Turn the power off, then ensure the dip switch settings are identical on both the remote control and the receiver.

Why is my Home Decorators Collection Windward 91165 Fan so noisy?
    • M
      melissa41Aug 13, 2025
If your Home Decorators Collection Fan is making noise, here are a few things to check: * Make sure all motor housing screws are snug. * Check that the screws attaching the fan blade bracket to the motor hub are tight. * Ensure wire nut connections aren't rattling against each other or the inside of the switch housing. * Allow the fan a 24-hour "breaking in" period, as most noises disappear during this time. * If using a light kit, ensure the screws securing the glassware are tight and that the light bulbs are secure. * Verify the canopy has a small gap and isn't touching the ceiling. * Confirm the outlet box is secure and rubber isolator pads were used between the mounting plate and outlet box.
