How to fix Homelite Trimmer string that will not advance?

If your Homelite Trimmer string will not advance, several issues could be the cause. First, the string might be welded to itself; lubricate it with silicone spray. Second, there might not be enough string on the spool; install more string. Third, the string could be worn too short; pull the strings while alternately pressing down on and releasing the spool retainer. Fourth, the string might be tangled on the spool; remove the string and rewind it. Lastly, the engine speed might be too slow; advance the string at full throttle.
