    • C
      caitlinwashingtonAug 2, 2025
If your Homelite chainsaw engine doesn't reach full speed and emits excessive smoke, consider these potential causes: 1. Check the oil fuel mixture. Use fresh fuel and the correct 2-cycle oil mix. 2. The air filter might be dirty. Clean it as instructed in the maintenance section. 3. The carburetor may need adjustment. Turn the "H" needle clockwise 1/16 - 1/8 turn. 4. The spark arrestor screen could be dirty. Replace it as instructed in the maintenance section.

      Brian SmithAug 11, 2025
If the bar and chain on your Homelite chainsaw are running hot and smoking, consider the following: 1. The chain oil tank might be empty. Ensure the oil tank is filled every time the fuel tank is filled. 2. Check the chain tension, adjusting it per the instructions in the Chain Tension section. 3. Check for oiler function by running the saw at full throttle for 15 to 30 seconds. Stop the saw and check for oil dripping from the Safe-T-Tip and guide bar. If oil is present, the chain may be dull or the bar may be damaged. If there is no oil, contact a servicing dealer.

Why Homelite Ranger UT10926 engine will not start?
    • N
      Nicole MaldonadoOct 28, 2025
If your Homelite chainsaw engine won't start, there could be several reasons. First, there might be no spark. To check, remove the cylinder cover and spark plug. Reattach the spark plug wire and lay the spark plug on the muffler or cylinder. Pull the starter rope and watch for a spark at the spark plug tip. If there's no spark, try again with a new spark plug. Another reason could be no fuel. Push the primer bulb until it's full of fuel. If it doesn't fill, the primary fuel delivery system is blocked, and you should contact a servicing dealer. If the primer bulb fills, the engine may be flooded.
