BRAKE SYSTEM
FRONT DISC BRAKE
Firmly apply the brake lever and check that no air
has entered the system.
If the lever feels soft or spongy when operated,
bleed the air from the system.
Refer to air bleeding procedures (page 17-5).
Inspect the brake hose and fittings for deterioration,
cracks, or signs of leakage.
Tighten any loose fittings.
Replace hose and fittings as required.
REAR DRUM BRAKE
Check the brake cable and brake lever for loose con-
nections, excessive play or other damage.
Replace or repair if necessary.
Measure the rear brake lever freeplay at the end of
the lever.
Adjust the rear brake lever freeplay by turning the
rear brake arm adjusting nut.
FREEPLAY: 10 – 20 mm (0.4 – 0.8 in)
