BATTERY/CHARGING SYSTEM
BATTERY
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove the left side cover (page 2-2).
Remove the bolt [1], collar [2] and battery holder [3].
Disconnect the negative (–) cable [4] first, and then the
positive (+) cable [5].
Remove the battery [6].
Install the battery in the reverse order of removal.
• Connect the positive terminal first and then the
negative cable.
VOLTAGE INSPECTION
Measure the battery voltage using a commercially
available digital multimeter.
BATTERY CHARGING
• Quick charging should only be done in an
emergency; slow charging is preferred.
• For battery charging, do not exceed the charging
current and time specified on the battery. Using
excessive current or extending the charging time
may damage the battery.
Remove the battery (page 17-5).
Connect the charger positive (+) cable to the battery
positive (+) terminal.
Connect the charger negative (–) cable to the battery
negative (–) terminal.

VOLTAGE:
Fully charged: Above 12.8 V
Under charged: Below 12.3 V
Turn power ON/
OFF at the charger,
not at the battery
terminals.
CHARGING CURRENT/TIME:
XR125LEK:
Normal: 0.5 A x 5 – 10 h
Quick: 5.0 A x 0.5 h
XL125LK, XR125LK:
Normal: 0.4 A x 5 – 10 h
Quick: 4.0 A x 0.5 h
