IGNITION SYSTEM
The ignition timing is correct if the "F" mark [1] on the
flywheel aligns with the index notch [2] on the left
crankcase cover.
Coat a new O-ring [1] with engine oil and install it onto
the timing hole cap [2].
Install the timing hole cap and tighten it.
IGNITION COIL
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove the fuel tank (page 2-4).
Disconnect the spark plug cap from the spark plug.
Disconnect the primary wire connector [1] and ground
wire connector [2] from the ignition coil.
Remove the bolts [3] and ignition coil [4].
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
ICM (IGNITION CONTROL MODULE)
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove the left side cover (page 2-2).
Disconnect the ICM 4P connector [1].
Remove the ICM [2] from the air cleaner housing.
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
