This document provides a quick guide for a Handheld Terminal (PDA), outlining its features, installation procedures, and troubleshooting tips.
Function Description:
The Handheld Terminal (PDA) is a portable device designed for various tasks, including scanning, NFC operations, and general computing. It features a touchscreen display, a physical keypad, and multiple input/output options. The device is equipped with a scanner for reading barcodes, an NFC reader for contactless interactions, and a camera with a flash lamp for image capture. It supports SIM and TF cards for communication and storage. The PDA can be charged via a Type-C USB cable or a dedicated charging cradle. It also supports Over-The-Air (OTA) updates for its firmware.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Display: 4.5-inch screen.
- Connectivity: Type-C interface, Micro SIM slot, PSAM slots (2), TF slot.
- Scanning: Integrated scan light and scan window.
- NFC: NFC reading area (optional feature).
- Power: Li-on battery. Charging time is approximately 4 hours for a full charge, providing over 48 hours of standby time.
- Customization: Hot button/Custom button functionality for screen capture, custom key assignments, and letter input switching.
Usage Features:
- Strap Installation: The device includes a strap buckle for secure handling. To install, push the strap buckle up in the direction of the arrow until it is secure.
- Battery Management:
- Opening the Battery Cover: Push the battery cover button in an anti-clockwise direction, then pull out the battery cover from the bottom case.
- Battery Insulation: Before first use, remove the positive and negative insulation yellow sticker from the battery.
- Removing the Battery: Lift the strap on the battery and pull the battery belt to remove the battery at a 45-degree angle upwards.
- Proper Battery Usage: The battery is Li-on. Charge immediately when power is low. Avoid storing the battery with full or no power for extended periods. The optimal storage charge is 50%. If not using the PDA for a long time, remove the battery and store it separately.
- Card Installation:
- SIM/TF Card: Insert the SIM card into the Micro SIM slot and the TF card into the TF slot. The standard SIM card slot is for PSAM cards.
- Charging:
- USB Charging: Pull out the waterproof USB plug on the right side and insert the Type-C USB cable.
- Cradle Charging: A separate cradle can charge one battery and one terminal simultaneously. The left indicator light shows battery charging status (red for charging, green for full). The right light indicates power on (green for on, off for off).
- Low Battery Warning: Charge the device when battery power is less than 20% to prevent over-consumption. If the battery is in an over-consumption state, charge for 20-30 minutes to restore normal charging status.
- Scanning Function (Optional):
- Locate and open the "scanner" app.
- Press the scan button in the scan interface to scan barcodes.
- Scan Settings: Options include sound, vibrate, additional content, decoding mode, continuous mode, indicator lamp, advanced settings (append prefix/suffix), and filter character.
- Troubleshooting Scanning: If no data is received despite the scan light being on, check "keyboard output" in scan settings. If checked, reset the scan demo twice (OFF-ON). If the device cannot scan, check if scan buttons work, if the scan engine supports the barcode, if the scanning lens is clear, and reset scan settings.
- NFC Function (Optional):
- Locate and open the "NFC" app.
- Read cards by placing them near the NFC reading area.
- System Updates (OTA):
- Go to "Settings" > "About phone" > "System update."
- Press "Check now" to update the OS.
- Update Recommendations: System updates improve device performance. It is recommended to download updates via Wi-Fi. Ensure the device has over 30% battery charge and is unplugged during the upgrade. The device may reboot multiple times; do not remove the battery or interrupt the process.
Maintenance Features:
- Factory Reset: To restore factory settings, navigate to "Setting" > "Backup & reset" > "Factory date reset."
- Troubleshooting Power On:
- Ensure the battery insulation sticker is removed for new devices.
- Press and hold the power button for approximately 4 seconds until the screen displays content.
- Check battery power. If low, charge the PDA until the charging icon appears, then charge for some time and restart.
- Troubleshooting PC Connection: If the PDA does not connect to a PC, try a different USB cable or a different PC.
- Troubleshooting Charging:
- Check the device adapter and charging port for damage.
- If the device has not been used for a long time, charge it for 30 minutes, then check if the device lights turn on.
- Try replacing the battery with a known working one to determine if the issue is with the battery or the device.
