Overview

This document describes the HOTECHE P805201A 11.5A (1400W) 210MM (8 3/8") Miter Saw, a stationary machine designed for making straight lengthways and crossways cuts in wood. It supports horizontal miter angles from -45° to +45° and vertical bevel angles from 0° to +45°.

Function Description:

The HOTECHE miter saw is a power tool primarily used for cutting wood and wood-like products. It is not intended for use with abrasive cut-off wheels for cutting ferrous materials such as bars, rods, or studs, as abrasive dust can jam moving parts and sparks can damage plastic components. The saw features a movable head that can be locked in a down position for storage and transportation. To operate, the head is released, the material is positioned and clamped, and the saw blade is brought to full speed before making the cut. The saw allows for various types of cuts including straight cuts, miter cuts, bevel cuts, and compound angle cuts by adjusting the rotary table and bevel angle settings. Dust collection is facilitated by a dust extraction port to which a dust bag can be attached, helping to maintain cutting efficiency and a cleaner workspace.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Rated Voltage: 110-120V~50/60Hz
  • Rated Power Input: 11.5A (1400W)
  • Speed (no-load): 5000/min
  • Saw Blade: Ø 210mm x Ø 16mm x 24T x 2.6mm
  • Cutting Angle Range: 0-45°
  • Bevel Cuts: 0° to 45° to the left
  • Cutting Capacity:
    • Straight cut at 0° x 0°: 12 x 5.5 cm
    • Miter cut at 0° x 45°: 8.3 x 5.5 cm
    • Bevel cut at 45° x 0°: 12 x 3 cm
    • Compound miter cut at 45° x 45°: 8.3 x 3 cm
  • Net Weight: 6.9 kgs
  • Sound Pressure Level (K=3dB(A)): 97.5 dB(A)
  • Sound Power Level (K=3dB(A)): 113 dB(A)
  • Minimum Size of Workpiece: 45mm x 5mm x 5mm

Usage Features:

  • Safety First: Users are instructed to read all safety warnings and instructions before use to prevent electric shock, fire, or serious injury. The saw should always be assembled before connecting to a power supply.
  • Dust Extraction: A dust bag is provided and clips onto the dust extraction port to collect sawdust. For optimal collection, the bag should be emptied when it is approximately 2/3 full.
  • Mounting: The saw can be fixed to a firm, level work surface using four mounting bolts (not supplied) through holes in its base, enhancing stability during operation.
  • Workpiece Clamp: A hold-down clamp is provided to securely hold workpieces during cutting, preventing movement and ensuring safety.
  • Releasing the Saw Head: The saw head is locked in the down position for transport and storage. It is released by applying downward pressure and pulling out the lock pin.
  • Making a Cut: After connecting to power, positioning the material, and ensuring all locks are tightened, the switch locker is pushed, and the trigger is pressed to allow the blade to reach full speed. The saw head is then smoothly moved down to make the cut with gentle pressure.
  • Mitre Cuts: Achieved by releasing the rotary table locking screw, twisting the table to the desired angle (0° to 45° left or right), and then re-tightening the lock screw.
  • Bevel Cuts: Made by moving the saw from the normal 0° perpendicular position to an angled position down to 45° from the horizontal, on the right only.
  • Compound Angle Cuts: Involve setting both a miter and a bevel angle simultaneously.
  • Blade Change: The blade securing bolt has a left-hand thread. Changing the blade involves releasing screws on the guard retraction arm, pressing the spindle lock button, and using a hex key to release the blade screw. The new blade must be installed with the teeth and arrow pointing downwards at the front of the saw.
  • Transportation: When moving the saw, ensure the saw head is locked in the lower position, and all locking knobs (rotary table, bevel lock) are securely tightened. The saw should be lifted by the transportation handle, not the switch handle.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Maintenance: Always remove the plug from the socket before any adjustment, servicing, or maintenance. Ensure all keys, wrenches, screws, bolts, and other fittings are securely tightened after adjustments.
  • Cleaning: Do not use water or chemical cleaners. Wipe clean with a dry cloth. Keep motor ventilation slots clean and all working controls free of dust.
  • Carbon Brushes: If carbon brushes need replacement, this should be done by a qualified repair person, and both brushes should be replaced at the same time.
  • Storage: Store the power tool in a dry place.
  • Supply Cord: If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a specially prepared cord available through the service organization.
  • Precision Setting of Angles: It is advisable to check and adjust the 0° settings for the rotary table and the perpendicular tilt, as these may shift during transit. This involves using a try square to verify 90° angles and adjusting locking screws as needed. The 45° bevel tilt can also be adjusted using a 45° set square or miter gauge.
  • Vibration and Noise Reduction: To minimize noise and vibration exposure, users are advised to limit operating time, use low-vibration and low-noise operating modes, wear personal protective equipment, ensure the product is well-maintained and in good condition, use correct application tools, maintain a tight grip, and plan work schedules to spread high vibration tool use across multiple days.
  • Health Surveillance: Employers should implement health surveillance schemes to identify and manage vibration-related diseases.
  • Environmental Protection: The product is marked for selective sorting of waste electrical and electronic equipment and should not be disposed of with household waste. It should be recycled or dismantled according to Directive 2012/19/EU.
