Usage Features

The dishwasher offers a user-friendly control panel with a program selector button (P), ON/OFF button, and various indicator lights for rinse aid, salt, half load (upper/lower rack), multi-functional tablets, and delayed start.

Wash Cycles:

The manual details several wash cycles, each tailored for different needs:

  1. Intensive: For heavily soiled pans and dishes (not suitable for delicate items).
  2. Auto Normal Wash: For normally soiled pans and dishes.
  3. Soak: Pre-wash for dishes while awaiting the completion of loading the dishes from the next meal.
  4. Eco: Environmentally-friendly wash cycle with low energy consumption levels, suitable for pans and dishes.
  5. Quick: For lightly soiled dishes (run cycle immediately after use) (2 place settings + 2 saucepans + 1 small frying pan).
  6. Crystal: For delicate items which are sensitive to high temperatures (run cycle immediately after use) (glasses upper rack + delicate plates lower rack).
  7. Ultra Intensive: For heavily soiled saucepans or pans with residual dried-on food.

Wash Options:

  • Delayed Start: Allows delaying the start of a cycle by 3, 6, or 9 hours.
  • Half Load (Upper or Lower Rack): For smaller loads, saving water, electricity, and detergent. The user selects whether to use the upper or lower rack only. This option is not compatible with the Quick cycle.
  • Multi-functional Tablets: Optimizes washing and drying results when using multi-functional detergents. This option lengthens the wash cycle and remains set for subsequent cycles unless deselected. It is recommended for models offering this option and for wash cycles that specify its use.

Loading the Racks:

  • Lower Rack: Designed for pans, lids, plates, salad bowls, and cutlery. Some models have tip-up sections for flexible arrangement.
  • Cutlery Basket: Positioned at the front of the lower rack or in the upper rack for half loads. Knives and sharp utensils should be placed points downwards.
  • Upper Rack: For delicate and lightweight crockery like glasses, cups, and saucers. The height of the upper rack is adjustable (ideally when empty) to accommodate different item sizes. Some models feature "Dual Space" handles for easier adjustment. Tip-up compartments with adjustable tilt are available in some models to increase space and improve drying.

Detergent, Rinse Aid, and Salt:

  • Only detergents specifically designed for dishwashers should be used.
  • The detergent dispenser has compartments for main wash (A) and pre-wash (B). For tablets, one tablet goes in compartment A, and a second on the bottom of the appliance if needed.
  • Rinse aid is essential for streak-free drying and its dispenser should be refilled when the LOW RINSE AID indicator light illuminates. The amount of rinse aid can be adjusted.
  • Refined salt is crucial for the water softener system to prevent limescale. The salt dispenser should be filled when the LOW SALT indicator light illuminates or when the green float is no longer visible. It is recommended to add salt before a wash cycle to dissolve any leaked saline solution. The water hardness level can be set (1-5) to optimize salt consumption.

Installation:

The appliance must be positioned on a level, sturdy floor, with adjustable front feet. Water and electricity connections must be performed by a qualified technician using new hoses. The water inlet hose should be connected to a cold or hot water supply (max 60°C). The outlet hose should connect to a drain duct with a minimum diameter of 4 cm. An anti-condensation strip (on some models) should be applied under the wooden shelf to protect it from steam.

Maintenance Features

  • Shutting Off Supplies: Turn off the water tap after each wash cycle and unplug the appliance from the electricity socket before cleaning or maintenance.
  • Cleaning the Dishwasher:
    • Exterior and control panel: Clean with a damp cloth; avoid abrasive products or solvents.
    • Interior: Remove any stains with a damp cloth and a little vinegar.
  • Preventing Unpleasant Odours: Leave the door slightly ajar to prevent moisture buildup. Regularly clean the door seals and detergent dispensers with a damp sponge.
  • Cleaning the Sprayer Arms: Periodically check and clean the sprayer arms (upper and lower) to remove food residues that may clog the nozzles. They can be removed for thorough cleaning.
  • Cleaning the Water Inlet Filter: Regularly clean the filter located at the tap connection point to prevent blockages.
  • Cleaning the Filters: The filter assembly, consisting of three filters, should be cleaned regularly to ensure optimal wash results. The dishwasher should not be operated without filters or if they are loose.
  • Extended Periods of Non-Use: Unplug the appliance, turn off the water tap, and leave the door slightly ajar. Run a wash cycle with an empty machine upon return.

Precautions, Advice, and Assistance

  • General Safety: The appliance is designed for domestic use by adults. Children should be supervised. Do not touch the heating element. Do not sit or lean on the open door. Keep detergents and packaging out of reach of children.
  • Disposal: Dispose of packaging materials according to local regulations. The appliance itself should be disposed of separately from household waste, following European Directive 2002/96/CE.
  • Saving Energy and Respecting the Environment: Use the dishwasher with a full load. For partial loads, use the Half Load option. Select the appropriate wash cycle (e.g., Eco for normally soiled dishes). Utilize delayed start for off-peak electricity tariffs. Use phosphate- and chlorine-free detergents with enzymes.
  • Troubleshooting: A dedicated section provides solutions for common issues like the dishwasher not starting, door not closing, no water draining, excessive noise, film/limescale on dishes, cloudy glasses, dishes not dry, dishes not clean, and water inlet/filter blockages.
  • Assistance: If problems persist after troubleshooting, contact an authorized Technical Assistance Service. Provide the type of malfunction, appliance model, and serial number (found on the data plate). Do not use unauthorized technicians.
