  If your Hotpoint dishwasher won't start, first ensure it's properly plugged into the socket. If there was a power outage, open the dishwasher door, press the START/Pause button, and close the door within 4 seconds. Make sure the dishwasher door is fully closed until you hear a 'click'. If the door was opened for more than 4 seconds during a cycle, press START/Pause and close it within 4 seconds. If the display shows 9 or 12 and the On/Off LED is blinking rapidly, switch the appliance off and on again after one minute. If the problem continues, unplug it for 1 minute, then plug it back in.

  If your dishes aren't clean after a Hotpoint dishwasher cycle, make sure the crockery is arranged correctly so the spray arms can rotate freely. Select a suitable wash cycle. Ensure the detergent is measured correctly and is suitable for dishwashers. Verify the rinse aid compartment cap is properly shut. Clean the filter assembly if it's soiled or clogged. Finally, check if the salt reservoir needs filling.

  If your Hotpoint dishwasher won't fill with water and shows H with the On/Off LED blinking rapidly, ensure there is water in the water supply and that the tap is running. Also, make sure the inlet hose is not bent. If the sieve in the water inlet hose is clogged, clean it, then turn off and turn on the dishwasher and restart a new program.
