Why won't the burner ignite on my Hotsy 1270SS when the trigger gun is open?
    • D
      David AbbottAug 13, 2025
If the burner on your Hotsy pressure washer won't ignite when the trigger gun is open, the possible causes are no fuel, an adjustable thermostat set too low, a defective pressure switch, dirty or misadjusted electrodes, or no AC generator output. Replenish the fuel supply, raise the temperature setting, repair or replace the pressure switch, refer to the Oil Burner Manual provided with the machine regarding the electrodes, and check the AC generator.

Why is there no water coming from my Hotsy Pressure Washer nozzle?
    • E
      Emily MeyerAug 17, 2025
If there is no water coming from the pressure nozzle of your Hotsy pressure washer, the possible causes include a clogged pressure nozzle, a clogged inlet water screen, or the pump sucking air. To resolve this, try cleaning the pressure nozzle, cleaning the inlet water screen, or filling the detergent container and checking for loose hose clamps or fittings.

Why is there poor or no detergent flow in my Hotsy 1270SS?
    • J
      James LeeAug 29, 2025
If you're experiencing poor or no detergent flow in your Hotsy pressure washer, it could be due to a low detergent level, a clogged detergent screen, the detergent metering valve not opening, or a clogged pressure nozzle. To fix this, replenish the detergent supply, clean the detergent screen, check that the handle or knob is not slipping on the shaft, and clean the pressure nozzle.

    • K
      kbrownSep 1, 2025
If the burner of your Hotsy pressure washer is smoking or has an obnoxious odor, it could be due to air bands needing adjustment or improper fuel. Readjust the air bands. Refer to the Oil Burner Section under Installation and use kerosene, #1 Grade Home Heating Oil, #1 or #2 Diesel Fuel. DO NOT USE GASOLINE.

      Duane JohnsonSep 5, 2025
If you're getting low pressure from the spray nozzle of your Hotsy pressure washer, the issue might be a clogged inlet, a worn or incorrect spray nozzle, an inadequate water supply, or the pump sucking air. Clean the inlet, replace the spray nozzle, increase the water supply, or fill the detergent container and check for loose hose clamps or fittings.

What to do if unloader valve cycles when trigger gun is open or closed on Hotsy 1270SS?
    • K
      Kathy MartinSep 9, 2025
If the unloader valve cycles when the trigger gun is either open or closed on your Hotsy pressure washer, it could be due to air in the system, a defective unloader valve, or a water leak between the unloader valve and the trigger gun. Open and close the trigger gun several times. You can also repair or replace the defective unloader valve. Check the fittings, hose and trigger gun for leaks and repair or replace if necessary.

    • S
      Shelly CastroNov 24, 2025
If your Hotsy pressure washer is smoking while the burner unit is running, or only at cold-start when the burner is off, potential causes include improper fuel or water in the fuel, improper air adjustment, low fuel pressure, a plugged or dirty burner nozzle, a faulty burner nozzle spray pattern, heavy soot accumulation, misaligned electrode setting, obstruction in the smoke stack, low engine RPM, or fuel pressure being too high. To address this, you can: * Drain the tank and replace contaminated fuel. * Readjust air bands on burner assembly. * Adjust fuel pump pressure to specifications. * Replace the nozzle. * Remove coils and burner assembly and clean thoroughly. * Realign electrodes to specifications. * Check for insulation blockage or other foreign objects. * Increas...
