The Hover-1 Alpha is a personal electric folding scooter designed for individual transportation. It is crucial to read the operation manual thoroughly before use to ensure safe operation and prevent damage to the device, property, or serious bodily injury.
The Alpha E-Scooter is an electric folding scooter that provides personal transportation. It features an LCD display, bell, brake handle, handlebars, throttle, power button, folding clip, steering column, folding hinge, kickstand, foot deck, charging port, folding hook, brake light, and rear disc brake. The device is equipped with a powerful built-in wireless Bluetooth® speaker, allowing users to play music while riding. It has two speed modes: a low speed mode (max 12 mph) and a high speed mode (max 18 mph). The Alpha also includes a cruise control feature for maintaining a constant speed. For safety, the scooter requires a "kick to start" mechanism, meaning it will not accelerate until it is already moving at least 1.8 mph (3 km/h).
To operate the Alpha, first ensure it is fully charged. Before using the motor, it is recommended to ride it like a normal kick scooter to become comfortable with the device. Once comfortable, power it on. To activate the motor, push off the ground with your foot to get the E-Scooter moving, then press the throttle down with your thumb. To slow down, disengage the throttle and squeeze the brake handle to engage the disc brake. The brake is pressure-sensitive, providing more stopping power with a tighter squeeze. Use the handlebars to turn the Alpha in the desired direction. The scooter can also be operated manually without the motor. As you become more comfortable, maneuvering will become easier, but remember to shift your weight at higher speeds to maintain stability. Be prepared for bumps or uneven surfaces; if necessary, dismount and carry the Alpha to a safe operating surface.
The LCD display shows your current speed in Mph, the current speed mode (1 for low, 2 for high), and the current battery level. The "S" icon indicates high-speed mode. The headlight icon indicates when the headlight is activated; quickly press the power button twice to turn it on/off. Cruise control can be activated by quickly pressing the throttle down twice while riding at a constant speed above 3 mph. A beep will sound, and the cruise control indicator will light up. To cancel cruise control, press the throttle down once or squeeze the brake handle.
For the Bluetooth® speaker, turn on the E-Scooter, and the speaker will enter pairing mode. Place your Bluetooth® device within 3 feet (1 meter) of the scooter, enable Bluetooth® on your device, and select "H1-ALPHA" from the list. If prompted, enter PIN "000000". The speaker will say "paired" when successful. The E-Scooter remembers paired devices and will automatically reconnect when in range. Volume and track controls are managed through your music device.
Proper care and maintenance are essential for the longevity and safe operation of your Hover-1 Alpha. Charging: Ensure the charging port is clean and dry before plugging in the charger. Use only the supplied 1-pin charging cable and charger from Hover-1. Plug the charger into a grounded wall outlet, then connect it to the Alpha's charging port. The indicator light on the charger will turn red during charging and green when fully charged. Unplug the charger from the device and wall outlet after charging. If the E-Scooter is not used for an extended period, recharge the battery every 2 months to maintain battery life.
The lithium-ion battery is built into the E-Scooter and should not be disassembled or removed. Only use the provided Hover-1 charger and cable. Do not connect the E-Scooter or battery directly to a power supply plug or car's cigarette lighter. Do not place near fire or in direct sunlight. Do not continue charging if the battery does not recharge within the specified time. Dispose of lithium-ion batteries properly according to local, state, or federal laws. Do not modify, change, or replace the battery. If the battery emits odor, overheats, or leaks, discontinue use. Do not touch leaking materials or breathe fumes. Do not allow children or animals to touch the battery. Do not open the battery or insert anything into it. If the battery discharges or emits substances, immediately distance yourself from it. Seek immediate medical assistance if exposed to any substance emitted from the battery.
