The Hover-1 Flex Electric Scooter is a personal transporter designed for safe and enjoyable riding. It utilizes digital electronic gyroscopes and acceleration sensors to maintain balance and control motion, responding to the user's center of gravity. A control system drives motors located within the wheels, and a built-in inertia dynamic stabilization system assists with balance during forward and backward movement, though not while turning.
For safe operation, it is crucial to read the user manual thoroughly. Failure to follow instructions and safety precautions can lead to damage, injury, or even death. Always wear a properly fitted helmet that complies with CPSC or CE safety standards when riding.
To power on the Flex, place it flat on the floor and press the power button located at the rear. The LED indicator in the center will light up, indicating it's powered on. To power off, press the button once more.
The Flex features four sensors under the foot mats. When riding, ensure your feet are placed firmly on these mats. Applying weight and pressure to only one foot mat may cause the Flex to vibrate or spin in one direction, which is normal.
The battery indicator, located in the middle of the Flex, uses LED lights to show battery status:
Before riding, ensure the battery is fully charged and the screws on the front and back tires are firmly locked. Practice at slower speeds in a flat, open area to familiarize yourself with the controls. To move, tilt your center of gravity in the desired direction. To turn, focus on the direction you wish to go and remain relaxed. At higher speeds, shift your weight to counteract centrifugal force during turns. If you encounter bumps or uneven surfaces, bend your knees, dismount, and carry the Flex over the obstruction.
Dismounting involves lifting one leg and setting your foot back down on the ground (stepping back) from a stopped position, then stepping off completely. Always lift your feet clear of the foot mat when dismounting to prevent the Flex from going into a tailspin.
The Flex has weight and speed limitations for safety. Do not exceed the maximum weight of 60 kg (130 lbs) or the maximum speed of 9.5 km/h (6 mph). When the maximum speed is reached, the Flex will beep and slowly tilt the rider back to prevent injury.
If the Flex becomes unbalanced, vibrates, or doesn't turn properly, it may need calibration. To calibrate:
Safety alerts will notify the user of system errors or improper operation. The Running Indicator Light will turn RED, and a beep will sound, indicating the device may stop suddenly. These alerts occur in situations such as unsafe riding surfaces, tilted platforms (more than 10 degrees), low battery voltage, charging status, excess speed, overheating, prolonged rocking, or when the system enters protection mode due to low power. If the Flex powers off during a safety alert, turn it off and back on to unlock it from the safety lock.
The Flex uses a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Only use the charger and charging cable supplied by Hover-1. Using other chargers or cables can damage the product, cause overheating, and pose a fire risk, voiding the warranty. Do not connect the Flex or battery to a power supply plug or car's cigarette lighter. Keep the Flex and batteries away from fire or direct sunlight, as excessive heat can cause additional heating, breaking, or ignition. If the battery does not recharge within the specified time (up to 5 hours for a full charge), do not continue charging, as it may become hot, rupture, or ignite. Do not attempt to modify, change, or replace the battery. If the battery emits odor, overheats, or leaks, do not use the Flex, touch leaking materials, or breathe fumes. Lithium-ion batteries are hazardous materials; follow local, state, and federal laws for recycling and disposal. Seek immediate medical assistance if exposed to any substance emitted from the battery.
Avoid exposing the Flex to liquid, moisture, or humidity to prevent damage to internal circuitry. Do not use abrasive cleaning solvents. Protect the Flex from extremely high or low temperatures, which can shorten component life, destroy the battery, or distort plastic parts. Do not dispose of the Flex in fire. Prevent contact with sharp objects to avoid scratches. Do not allow the Flex to fall from high places, as this can damage internal circuitry. Do not attempt to disassemble the Flex, as this will void the warranty. Only use the charger provided by Hover-1. Avoid using water or other liquids for cleaning, as they can cause permanent damage to internal components.
