Children
Tragic accidents can occur if the operator is not alert to the presence of children. Children are
often attracted to the mower. Never assume that children will remain where you last saw
them.
1.
Keep children out of the mowing area and under the watchful care of a responsible
adult.
2.
Be alert and turn mower off if children enter the area.
3.
Before and while moving backwards, look behind and down for small children.
4.
Never allow children to operate the mower.
5.
Use extra care when approaching blind corners, shrubs, trees or other objects that
may obscure vision.
Service
1.
Use extra care in handling gasoline and other fuels. Gasoline is highly f lammable
and vapors are explosive.
a)
Use only approved containers.
b)
Never remove gas cap or add fuel with the engine running. Allow engine to
cool before refueling. Do not smoke.
c)
Never refuel the mower indoors.
d)
Never store the mower or fuel container inside where there is an open f lame,
such as a water heater.
e)
Never f ill containers inside a vehicle or on a truck or trailer bed with a plastic
liner. Always place containers on the ground away from your vehicle before
f illing.
f)
When practical, remove the mower from the truck or trailer and refuel it on the
ground. If this is not possible, then refuel such equipment on a trailer with a
portable container, rather than from a gasoline dispenser nozzle.
g)
Keep the nozzle in contact with the rim of the fuel tank or container opening at
all times until fueling is complete. Do not use a nozzle lock-open device.
h)
If fuel is spilled on clothing, change clothing immediately.
