INTRODUCTION

This
section describes
the
adjustments
which
will
return
the
instrument
to
peak
operating
condition
after
repairs are
completed.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

Although
this
instrument
has been designed in
accordance
with
international safety
standards,
this manual
contains
information,
cautions,
and
warnings which
must
be
followed
to
ensure
safe
operat
i
on
and
to
retain
the
instrument
in safe
condition
(see
Sections"
and"
I) .
Service
and
adjustments
should be
performed
only
by
qualified service personnel.
WARNING I
Any
interruption
of
the protective (grounding)
conductor (inside or outside the instrument or
disconnection
of
the protective earth terminal
is
likely to make the instrument dangerous.
Intentional interruption
is
prohibited.

Any
adjustment
,
maintenance,
and
repair
of
the
opened
instrument
with
voltage
applied
should
be avoided
as
much
as possible
and
,
when
inevitable, should be carried
out
only
by
a skilled person who
is
aware
of
the
hazard
involved.

Capacitors
inside
the
instrument
may
still be
charged even
if
the
instrument
has been
disconnected
from
its source
of
supply.
5- 7 Make sure
that
only
fuses
with
the
requ ired
rated
current
and
of
the
specified
type
(normal blow,
time
delay,
etc.) are used
for
replacement
.
The
use
of
repaired fuses
and
the
shortcircuiting
of
fuseholders
must
be avoided.
5- 8 Whenever it
is
I ikely
that
the
protection
offered
by
fuses has
been
i
mpaired
,
the
instrument
must
be made
inoperative
and
secured against
any
unintended
operation.

Adjustments described herein
are
performed
with power supplied to the instrument while
protective covers
are
removed. Energy available
at many points may,
if
contacted, result
in
personal
injury or death.
