Damper cover, left damper spring, right damper spring, or damper base
cover
1. Remove the ADF right cover, or the ADF left cover, or both covers, depending on the removal
objective. See
ADF right cover on page 66 or ADF left cover on page 69.
2. Remove two screws (callout 1).

3. Remove the damper.
NOTE: Remove the damper spring cap by sliding it up through the hole.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to remove the damper on the other side.
NOTE: During reinstallation, make sure that the oblong hole is directed toward the rear of
the ADF, as shown in the illustration above.
NOTE: The left damper spring and the right damper spring are different. Make sure that
the correct spring is reinstalled in the correct location.
